Shows that should've ended forever and a half ago
Ceej989 | 9:52 PM on 08.27.2008 10 comments

As I was replying to the wonderful comments on my previous post, it just hit me...there are a ton of shows out there that should've ended a while ago! Though I don't watch TV much, I shall compile a small list and update it when I find more shows:

1. Prison Break: why the HELL did this show go past a season? I mean, the whole point was to get the damn guy out of the prison before he gets executed, not escape and then get thrown into another damn prison! This show could have been just a damn miniseries...

2. Naruto: Ok we get it Sasuke, you don't want to come back before you can kill your brother. Wah, wah, wah cry me a friggin river, build a bridge, and jump off the damn thing you emo-douche!

3. 24: This show is near and dear to my heart, but I mean, come on, give my Canadian-born US suupah agent some slack. How many friggin bad days does this guy need?

That's all for now, I'm getting off my soapbox. Feel free to add your shows as well.

My (current) little anime obsession
Ceej989 | 4:11 PM on 08.27.2008 20 comments

I've dabbled a bit here and there with Anime ever since college. A lot of my friends were
huge huge fans of series with Ninjas, big boobs, catchy err...catch phrases, and tentacles. I
wasn't really a fan of the stuff as I thought most of them were stupid. I didn't really like FLCL
or Evangelion (**awaits the haters**). So yeah, I did like Trigun, Afro Samurai (does that
count?), Hajime no Ippo, and Naruto. But I got sick of Naruto and the staring into the enemy's
eyes and talking and the backstory episodes, oh my GOODNESS the back story episodes
never ended! Recently, I got back into an anime that I hadn't watched in some time and I've
been hooked. What is it you ask? None other than the adventures of the Strawhat Pirates
and their quest for the One Piece.

I can already feel the sting from the flames that may come from posting this, but whatever.
For those of you that may not know, One Piece is about a kid named Luffy that goes out on a
quest to become the Pirate King and along the way befriends some people and kicks some
peoples' arses. What I like about the show is that it's friggin hilarious. All the characters have
their own little quirks about them and sometimes unexpected things happen. I'm not
particularly interested or fond of pirates, but this show tickles me pink!

YUS!! Stream Hulu.com, Youtube.com, and more on your 360/PS3!
Ceej989 | 11:23 PM on 08.19.2008 11 comments

A friend of mine found this link about a program that allows you to stream youtube vids and hulu.com on your Xbox 360 and PS3! Great for random nights of boredom!

I wish they showed how it looked on the 360, but I guess I'll try my luck with the beta.
Pretty sweet if you ask me, maybe one less reason not to get a PC for some? I mean, all I really use my PC for now is to post this stuff, occasionally play Sam and Max episodes, Beyond Good and Evil, use Adobe Photoshop, and...wait...nevermind I guess they still are useful. Check it out! Makes our systems more entertainment friendly!

An awesome movie to watch if you're bored, drunk, in need of a laugh...or dead
Ceej989 | 3:47 PM on 08.19.2008 5 comments

Well I guess technically you can't watch it if you're dead, unless you're a zombie, but even then, why bother...

ANYWAYS for those of you that have read this far, the movie that I'm singing praises about is none other than Vampire Assassins. Many of you may have already experienced this masterpiece (I'm waiting for the BluRay release to finally jump into the Blu! yus!). But for those of you that haven't experienced this wild ride, take a look at this amazing dvd cover.

Now of course you may think, "psh, this is just a dumb Blade ripoff". But that's where you're wrong, dead wrong.
Ok, so I fibbed a bit. Vampire Assassins does have a black guy with coat that fights a vampire or two. But he does NOT have dredlocks, a sword, or EVEN that funky blade boomerang. Actually, this guy isn't even in the movie. Trust me, I've looked.
Only thing I found was that this movie was taped over something else and they even kept the title intro to it in the opening credits.
No dear readers in fact, THIS is how our warrior of the night looks like:

Yes Ron Hall, you did get me...
Dare I even say he RonHalled me?
Ron Hall acted, directed, and also wrote this timeless collection of art. It was released in 2005; but Hall carefully crafted this film to ensure that the video quality and editing was like something done with my parents' Panasonic full size VHS video camera from 1992.

From the editing, to the actors, to the fight sequences, and even down to the script, everything was done in such a meticulous fashion. Do yourselves a favor, watch this!

DISCLAIMER: Please be sure you're drunk or prepared to watch an incredibly awesome (read: shitty) movie otherwise you brain may in fact explode into a bajillion sub-atomic particles. I am not responsible for any brain'splodin.

Where do I begin?
Ceej989 | 5:53 PM on 08.17.2008 11 comments

In a time where...wait that doesn't sound right....

Video games have been a part of my life for quite some time. They've always fascinated me. Whether it's the fact that I have complete and utter control over the fate of some dude (or even a bad dude), how they can take me to a world or a time period I've always had interest in, or even the fact that they can even tug a little bit at my very soul, they have a special place in my wall o' stuff I love. This is my story of how I was first bit by the bug.

I remember when I first laid eyes on my first love which popped my cherry so to speak. It was at a SEARS glass encased display. It beckoned me like a siren to a lonely sailor. It was the Nintendo Entertainment System. I stared at it for what seemed like an eternity. It teased me like a stripper behind a peepshow window with snippets of what it could do for me, at a price. Its monochromatic structure with a big gaping hole beckoning me to "put it in". Attached to it a device that allowed me to play with it for hours.
And a gun. A big friggin gun. What more could a boy ask for?
I begged and screamed for it, my parents chose to ignore my wails. So I got louder and more persistent. I had to pull out all my tricks. The waterworks began to stream from my face. I held on to that glass display like a certain red and blue wall crawler as my parents tried to pry me from it. They finally succumbed to my wishes after they noticed how much of a scene I had made. Victory was mine. My parents grudgingly gave the clerk their hard earned money knowing (or maybe not knowing) how many countless hours I will dedicate to this device. I bet to this day they curse the day I brought that home with me. They shudder at the fact that this "craze" is still with me. But now this love it's bigger and oh so much stronger. Sure I could be doing other things that could be more productive like trying to make more money, or create/do something that would benefit society. Sure I could focus my efforts on maybe going back to school for a Masters or a PhD in something. But sadly, I don't want to. Videogames have taken over me. And you know what? I wouldn't want it any other way.

:-)
