Late night tonight, folks. I recently bought me a PSP for the 2nd time, and, since I’ve got nothing better to talk about, here’s a shitty 1 sentence review of every game I’ve played on the system since I bought it:
Lumines 2: The best puzzle game, ever, hands down.
Mega Man: Powered Up: The best Mega Man game, ever, hands down.
Gunpey: The 2nd best puzzle game, ever.
Mega Man X Maverick Hunter: Great, but it bastardizes the Storm Eagle music (i.e. greatest gaming music ever).
Patapon 2: OMG THE CUTTEST THING EVAR.
Crisis Core FF7: If you liked/loved any of the continuing saga games/movies, you’ll love this.
Popolocrois: Why aren’t people talking more about this awesome RPG?
And that’s it. Now, as for the recap, all I’m gonna say is this:
Jesus, people, you need to start posting your amazing blogs on OTHER days of the week. The Topsauce is getting pretty crowded on Tuesday nights!
Wow. Double Top Sauce. Thanks a lot, though the Homebrew series wouldn't be about me MAKING a game, it'd just be me introducing people to the scene. On the list of things to cover so far as Emulators, old PC ports like Doom and SCUMMVM, homebrew games like Beats of Rage, never released games like Half-Life on DC, and homebrew games being released professionally like Feet of Fury.
I don't care how intriguing or well-written that Home Monthly Muse is, Home is and will more than likely always be a piece of crap. Also, I see "Best MegaMan game ever," but no MegaMan 2 anywhere near it. This is a big problem, man.
I would do anything for recaps...but I won't do that.
A fantastic recap as always, thanks Pendelton. I had completely forgotten about my strong desire to play Mega Man Powered Up; guess I just never found it. I'll have to keep my eye out. Gotta agree with Jack a bit--Mega Man 2 was incredible and definitely my favorite. Give me Mega Man 2 Powered Up. Whoa.
thanks for the recaps. . . waiting on the Go! to come out to pick up a new PSP, but not getting to play Patapon 2 is killing me! Plus, it gives my wife something to play if I want to monopolize the console occasionally! :)
I've respect the Recappers. I know it's a lot of work, and it's appreciated by a lot of readers.
But I think it is a really bad choice to skip certain blogs. That takes away the whole credibility of the recaps. I mean what use is there for the recaps if I'm not certain I've seen every Cblog written? So after reading this I'd have to go back to the Cblogs to see if I have missed something?
This time it's Hoborg. Who's next?
I don't like his blogs either. But take a good look at the comments. Ignoring someone starts there. Not in the recaps.
@Takeshi
I think cutting out Hoborg is his way of protesting his continued existence, which I support. Pendleton is a long term hardworking member, and a great guy: I think sticking together and supporting members like that is more important than defending Hoborg or sticking to guidelines.
Also "who's next?"; no one I've ever seen tries to single-handedly ruin the blogs like him. I've seen much better people banned before off this site.
Take a good look at the comments for a second. Then tell me if Hoborg is worse than the people commenting.
I read things like:
'Asshole', 'Shut the fuck up!', 'we just fucking hate you', 'People who think like this are the kind of elitist assholes we don't need in this community. Once again, just fucking go, your not wanted here.'.
Want me to go on? OK, I will.
'pieces of shit like you', 'Were tired of your elitist fucktard attitude', 'Just go fuck yourself alright?'.
Now read your comment again. I don't want to stick together with people who talk like that. Subtract all those comments and see what's left. Probably about 20 comments on the actual subject. Which can be negative or positive. That's cool with me.
Basically when you said "supporting members like that is more important than defending Hoborg or sticking to guidelines." is that 'We' don't have to stick to any guidelines but 'He' does?
Look the 'Failtoid' and 'Other' sections exist for a reason. The recapper thinks it is fail or not very interesting. Which is his opinion and I respect that. But we can all decide for ourselves what to think about a certain blog. By not even mentioning someone we can not form our own opinion.
I'm not defending Hoborg. Like I said, I don't like Horborg's blogs. But I don't think he's a spammer or disruptive by posting his blogs. He keeps everything he wants to say in his own blog. Which is fine by me.
And Pendelton, I'm not attacking you either. I think you're a great guy, with a positive attitude and you're doing a great job on the Recaps.
There is something else that bothers me a lot. Which is kind of the same thing as not letting people form their own opinion. Which is people that talk on behalf of the whole community. 'We don't like you.' 'Everybody hates you, we want you to leave.' and your own comment '99% of the community wants him banned'.
I want to ask everybody to speak for themselves.
Think about these points for a second before you comment on a blog that you don't like.
What the hell are you talking about? I always try to combat Hoborg's reasoning, not his character. Don't lump me in with the flamers.
I don't support the obscene flamers or Hoborg himself. Ostensibly, they're the exact same thing: extreme negativity on the blogs. It's all bad for the communities' image.
Also, I guarantee you most of the community does not like Hoborg. Why I make comments like that is because a few of us (Tubatic comes to mind) have been noticing what Hoborg has been doing since day one. A lot of you have stumbled in weeks later on his "nicer" blogs, and think "oh he's not that bad".
Also, this bothers me a bit:
"I don't want to stick together with people who talk like that"
A lot of these comments are from long term members who are just sick of it, so they snap. Also, I don't get the whole "surprise at 50 comments in fail blogs" thing anymore. It's like every time there's a fail blog, people can't believe it has so many comments. It's because the author says something inflammatory, and people are sick of it. Some members have kept quiet for weeks, then just can't stand his attitude anymore. I've seen you get pissed at a few people before, for just cause. Everyone snaps.
Just to make sure you know, I have 0 problem with you, and I understand your argument. The point is, this is what people like Hoborg do: they drive people crazy by flaming everything and anything, and drive a wedge in the community. Funnily enough, I love you, and everything you type/do, but it's my opinion that Hoborg is disruptive, and yours is more apathetic, yet we're arguing here with giant comments. Eventually, more people will snap: some have already left the blogs for the forums JUST because of Hoborg. What does that tell you?
A couple months back, I was left off of the recaps for whatever reason, and I felt pretty bad about it because it made sure that nobody was going to be able to read my blog, seeing as new additions get put up at a steady pace, burying my blog.
Now, Hoborg's shit may or may not be a person's cup of tea, but this is a recap, so I say let people decide whether they want to ignore it or not, and not make the choice for them.
We don't have to like everyone else on this website, but we can't go about censoring them. [Insert some historical fucking quote about censorship and what not].
I think a good point's been made, so let's put it this way. It should be a personal decision to not pay attention to Hoborg. Though the intentions are good, it's probably better off that we let people decide for themselves whether or not to click on the link.
Like it's been said, it takes away from the point of recaps if we start selecting what actually gets recapped.
Yea, my comment was a bit extreme. I suppose it was my way of saying a lot of people are tired of it.
I should CLARIFY: if I ever do the recaps, I wouldn't ever take anyone out (I would just fail Hoborg), but I would still support someone's decision to do that if that's what they wanted.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!

Oh, shit, sorry I misread that. Still would wanna read about the scene, though, so hop to it, dude!
I really need to write a Clog again. Haven't written one if forevs.
You forgot Hoborgs blog.
@Takeshi
The less attention he gets, the better.
I don't care how intriguing or well-written that Home Monthly Muse is, Home is and will more than likely always be a piece of crap. Also, I see "Best MegaMan game ever," but no MegaMan 2 anywhere near it. This is a big problem, man.
Good recaps. :D
I don't understand the Miku thing either. I assume it's the cute, weeaboo factor.
I believe this is my first Topsauce. Thanks much, and thanks for the recaps.
Thanks for the recap, man. Good call on skipping all future Hoborg blogs.
I would do anything for recaps...but I won't do that.

Thanks for the recap, and the inclusion in topsauce. :)
First post, one hour after registration, and already in topsauce?! Great success!:D
Thanks.

Good call Takeshi.
A very valid point Takeshi.
@Takeshi:
I agree. Personally I never intentionally skip one and agree that recaps shouldn't omit.
If you want to protest Hoborg, just "write" a complaint in his cblogs. ;)

It's just best not to click on Hoborg's blogs.
