So yesterday Vexed Alex wrote a great blog about how it can be really hard to get into a multiplayer game for the first time that has an already deeply installed user base and community. He discussed how it can be so frustrating that the experience ceases to be fun, and just becomes aggravating. I know exactly what he's talking about because I'm going through it right now with Gears of War 2.

I just started playing Gears of War 2 for the first time this week, and I essentially already hate the multiplayer. I mean I have probably put 8-10 hours into the multiplayer so far and I still freaking suck at it. I have tried really hard to get a hang of the strategy, but no matter how hard I try there is always someone else there ready to blow my head off with one shot. It's almost impossible right now for me to get any enjoyment from playing this game, and that is just really disappointing. Why would I ever want to keep playing a game that has such a steep learning curve for new players? There are so many great multiplayer games out there, it just makes me want to leave this one behind and move on and never look back. Let me just end by saying fuck you Gears of War 2. I hate your guts!

I don't ever play multiplayer games (Except for Tetris DS) just for the fact that everyone is so much better than me.

Mean-spirited as those Billy Mays jokes I read on that blog were, I'd be lying if I said I didn't laugh very hard at those. And if you thought Gears of War 2's multiplayer was steep, you should get on KZ2 so I can have someone to suffer along with. >_>

Also, cool dragon, reminds me a lot of Neo Bahamut from FFVII.

Indeed that can be a bitch. That's why I love to play with/against Dtoiders. I never feel bad getting me ass handed to me by one of my friends. Well, maybe sometimes. OK, MOST OF THE TIME! Probably the only one I don't mind loosing from is Shipero in Warhawk. Because, well, nobody can beat him in that game.
