Yea! But I'm not solely into progressive metal: I'm also a big fan of traditional power metal (Malmsteen), fusion, and anything outside of death metal.
Seventh Wonder, though, is in fact, my favorite "sound". Symphony X is my personal favorite band. Since it's an under appreciated medium, I think I'll type out a list of all the metal bands I listen to, and just link to it in the next recap. There's so many good groups!
I've always wanted that. I was agreeing with the statement someone else said, but it's not like you all are going to get into serious trouble if you keep it up. You're making yourself look bad, sure (haha), but again, it's not against the rules.

Mag, I got to ask, are you familiar with Wintersun? One of my faves ever. Very inspirational story behind it's conception as well, but I won't bore anyone with the deets. Just checkout the songs Starchild, Beyond the Dark Sun or Winter Madness, probably their best songs IMO. It's a little more extreme than Prog Metal (it incorporates the "Gothenburg sound" as a jumping off point, if you are familiar with that style, but more melodic), but just amazes me everytime.
Also, are you familiar with Folk Metal? I know it sounds weird but it's a really cool, unique form of metal. Ensiferum & Eluveitie are pretty good starting bands for genre virgins.
