Actually that makes total sense. Their singles never sounds like their full albums. A lot of people can't listen to their entire albums. Damon says he does that on purpose because he wants a track that baits people in and helps them to discover a more experimental hip-hop.
Oddly enough though Stylo does sound like what I expect an entire Gorillaz album to sound like. I've also heard some of the leaks and they have a very distinct Pink Floyd vibe. At least that's what I'm getting. It'll be a very interesting album.
