In the background tonight, I have a torrent of Jonathan Coulton Looks Back percolating away. He's probably best known in these parts for writing the closing credits song for Portal, but he's done many fairly geeky songs that statistically, if you're reading this, you will enjoy. He's well versed in gaming and internet social trends, having released a couple of his songs as free downloads for Rock Band-- and everyone who's met him at PAX or other events has said he's just as awesome in real life as you would expect. The album is a legal torrent, all of the songs distributable under Creative Commons, and can be grabbed right here if you are so inclined. It won't cost you anything except time, why not have a listen?
Seeing this live was one of the highlights of my life. No exaggeration.
I traded my copy of Bioshock for a friend's copy of Fallout 3 for a while and have just started that up. I expect to be exploring the D.C. Wasteland for quite a while. The first two Fallout games reminded me of Choose-your-own-adventure books, and each save was like putting your thumb on a page to see what would happen next. I hope this one continues that tradition.
Lots of reviews today, but not much news. Let's get to the recaps.
