So, last night, during a game of L4D, I was discussing with my fellow players the game of Humans vs. Zombies, which, surprising to me, none of them knew about. So, I thought I’d give a basic overview here, for anyoe who hasn’t heard of this magnificent game:
Normally played on college campuses, HVZ (called many different things by many people) is a zombie apocalypse LARP. You start off with a group of humans and a group of zombies, both of which wear pre-set bandanas (humans wear them on their arms/legs, zombies on their heads). In the real world, it’s up to the zombies to yank the bandanas off of the humans to “turn” them. But, to defend themselves, the humans use balled-up socks and Nerf guns to shoot zombies in the head. Any zombie shot must stand in place for 15 minutes, until he “respawns”. After a set time (usually a few weeks), the zombies make a final stand against the remaining humans. Here at BG, that means the humans have to make it from the Student Union to the “heli-pad” (the library), where they will be rescued. Whoever is still human at the end wins. Check out all the rules here, and try and get a game going at your college. This shit is fun as hell.
