President's day has come and gone, and while I number among the public sector stiffs who don't get to take the holiday off from work, I find it's not a bad idea to take a moment and reflect on the great (and less great) men who have led the United States through good times and bad. Unless of course you're reading this from somewhere other than the U.S., in which case this day probably has less significance to you than effluvium in a windstorm. In that case, I hope you and your significant other had a lovely Valentine's day, or failing that, a happy Single's Awareness Day.

Being that it is President's day in this country, I hope you'll not mind if I emulate Theodore Roosevelt and use the Bully Pulpit of the Cblog recaps to plug my own project. Based on the response I got to the idea of a Pokemon tournament, I've drawn up rules and started a forum thread for those who would like to participate. I need more people to sign up, though. As of right now, I have less than 8 people who've given me their information, which would make for a rather short tourney. I think it could be a lot of fun, but this will only work if people are willing to meet me halfway. If beating living elemental hell out of adorably marketable creatures is something that appeals to you, why not sign up via one of the above links, or send me an e-mail? Signups will close at the end of this weekend... This is the last you'll hear from me on the subject in this space.

I played through and completed the PS3 version of Bioshock over the last week, playing the role of a goody-two-shoes sistersaver from beginning to end. I'm curious to know how things play out if you play the role of a totmunching bastard, but I think I'll wait and cleanse my palette with another game before returning to the morally murky depths of Rapture. I do have a question for the community though... has anyone downloaded and played through the DLC for this game, and in your opinion is it worth it? I may be wrong, but I don't remember a Destructoid review on the downloadable stuff. Reviews have been strangely difficult to come by elsewhere, as well.

I'm sure you've had enough of my prattle at this point. Recaps, I choose you!

*-Krow wrote a deeply personal look at how much the Legend of Zelda games have meant to him.
*-Jedah Domah made a great debut with this post about video games' older cousin.
*-Remember that contest Haxan was running? Check out what happened afterwards...
*-I don't want to spoil this. Just read it.

S-Tactix hosted another Destructoid Community Discusses. This week: Educational Games, with a surprise mystery guest!
S-NihonTiger90 asks the eternal question: What'd You Get?
A-Dimly wrote an article on how Sega can make Sonic relevant again. Shame they won't listen.

No contests today. Here's a video of some stuff in the Street Fighter Cartoon that just plain makes no sense.

E-Paul Soth could use some help organizing the Columbus Electronic Gaming Expo. If you're in or near Ohio, how about lending a hand?
C-Ckarasu did a comparative analysis between GameFAQs and Destructoid. As Yojimbo put it, that's like comparing a Picasso to a coloring book page.
C-Kezins wrote about how he very nearly gave up on gaming when he was in the military, and how he came back to it.
C-Stewie32887 needs to learn that 22 isn't old, dammit. Neither, I might add, is 32.
C-Velt decided to write more in his native tongue.
R-FitzLik3AlG0r3 (Yes, really) bought a Madcatz pad for SF4 that was broken right out of the box. Sorry, dude.

N-Earthbound on the Virtual Console is dealt yet another blow. I'd make a SMAAAAAAAAAASH joke but my heart wouldn't be in it.
N-Oboro Muramasa has been pushed back in Europe. They say bad things always come in threes...
V-WHY PENIS WHY? JTHomeslice shows that GTA4's DLC contains wang.
R-SurplusGamer reviews some... rentals? Actually, this works pretty well. I like the scoring system.
R-ZombieKiller13 chimes in on Onechanbara. At least the reviews are consistent.
R-Nilcam shares his perspective on Flower.
T-SilverDragon1979 wonders why no one seems excited about The Lost and the Damned for GTA 4.
T-Why hasn't there been a review of SF4 on Destructoid yet? Nick Chester reveals all.
T-Michiyoyoshiku does the math on Street Fighter 4 and determines the home version is ultimately cheaper.
T-Nilcam has pre-release insomnia for Street Fighter 4.
T-N0brein pontificates about the new screens Namco released for Tekken 6. Is it just me, or does the timing of their screenshots seem suspicious?

A-EarthBounderNess shows via the magic of Photoshop what Chad and Colette might look like in Street Fighter 4.
A-Faith reposted her Pixel Perler creations from yesterday. They're still awesome.
A-These SF4 advertisements should certainly count as art. Nice find by RAB.
L-Ckarasu shares a webcomic targeted at fans of the Persona games. Apparently it's hilarious.
M-A very well done remix of the Final Fantasy battle theme by Against Belief. Video's a little strange though.
S-Pappadukes shows off what he received for V-day.

L-Is this a shoop? Only Genki-JAM knows for sure...
R- Mr. Dillinger gave us this... interesting... 10 things post.
R-Apparently Madworld will be set in Ivalice. Well, that Vaan kid could probably use a beating.
V-I'm not gonna lie. This wasn't good.
C-More content next time, please.
C-So Michiyoyoshiku hasn't played Guilty Gear. That's... nice?
C-This had already been on the front page for 6 hours at this point. That's like a hundred years in internet time from what I understand.
?-What's Substance TV?

S-Slower than slugs f***ing.
F-Take your ad blog and shove it.
F-THIS BLOG IS CASUAL lobster milkshake.
F-The forums will be happy to accommodate you.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?

Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
