Hello friends! I hope everyone had an enjoyable holiday, I know I did. My boyfriend got me a Dreamcast with Shenmue for Christmas, so that was awesome and unexpected! I never knew anyone with a Dreamcast growing up, so I never got to play any of the cool-looking games it had, and I've recently been having a very strong urge to play Shenmue for some reason. And I will get around to playing it, but there's another game that I'm currently obsessing over, and I feel I need to finish that one first.
La-Mulana has seriously got me hooked. Granted, I haven't been able to figure out all of the puzzles so far without aide. I had to shamefully use a guide to figure out the puzzle to obtain the Fruit of Eden, along with a few other minor things, but for the most part I'm trying to stay away from guides. I think I've done a pretty good job of figuring most things out on my own. La-Mulana is super cryptic, though, and full of riddles and subtle hints. It's very difficult and mysterious, but that's definitely part of why I like it so much. I've had to pull out a notebook to take notes on while I play, and I keep revisiting areas to make sure I didn't miss anything in the background or skim over any of the tablets too quickly.
The last thing I accomplished in La-Mulana was defeating Chi You in the sacrifical pit, and now I'm pondering what I should do next. I still haven't defeated Zu yet (he's really tough!) so maybe that should be my next goal. I did just unlock the second floor of the Endless Corridor, which is probably where I should go next, but it's baffling me at the moment. Regardless, I'm determined to beat this game (and hopefully with as little help from guides as possible).
