Howdy folks! Don't have much to talk about this week. I've still been addicted to Animal Crossing and Spelunky for the most part.
Speaking of Spelunky, it's really starting to frustrate me lately. Maybe it's just bad luck or I'm not paying enough attention, but it seems like close to half of my playthroughs are disrupted by shopkeepers suddenly becoming enraged by enemies or environmental hazards that I seemed to have no control over. This also seems to happen mainly in the Black Market, which makes sense because there's so many shopkeepers there, but it's still very frustrating. Usually this will happen when a viper decides to spit on a shopkeeper, or a tribesman that I didn't see attacks me and the shopkeeper from afar, but sometimes I won't even know what happened. One time, I detonated a powder box on the opposite side of the level from the shop, and the explosion caused a broken arrow to fly all the way over, makes its way into the shop somehow, and hit the shopkeeper. I had no idea what had angered him until I went over to the shop and found the broken arrow lying by the back of the shop. That instance was just bad luck for sure (who could have predicted that would happen?), but stuff like that just seems to happen way too often to me.
I haven't managed to even make it back to Olmec for almost two weeks now, let alone make it to Hell again. I did manage to defeat the Alien Queen finally, and grab the Plasma Cannon, which was a first for me. I killed myself with it in the very next level, but at least I got it for once.
I keep telling myself I'm going to take a break from Spelunky since it's angering me so much with the temperamental shopkeepers, but I keep playing it every day anyway. My bad luck is sure to change sometime, right?
