I got Rayman Legends this week, and it's pretty rad, although there are a few noticeable omissions from the game that make me a bit sad (noticeable to me, anyway). No more King Lums? Those were the happiest things ever! Why get rid of them? No more Pig Latin? I thought that was a nice, quirky addition to the series. No fairies? I guess I just wish Betilla and the other fairies played a bigger part in the Rayman games. I especially liked their designs in Origins.
However, the silly, smile-inducing fun is still there, as are the gorgeous worlds and awesome music. I really liked the James Bond-esque themes for the underwater levels, including the strange octopus-themed room which reminded me of Octopussy's lair. I also really liked the levels where you could shrink down and explore the insides of different fruits. The bosses were OK, but not really as memorable to me as the Origins bosses. I did really enjoy the luchador boss running around yelling, "Luchadore!" though. The music levels were a nice addition, especially the Castle Rock and Gloo Gloo levels. I wish they had explored more possibilities with those. I also like the addition of daily and weekly challenges, although they start to get a bit same-y after a while.
It's definitely a great game, and a solid entry in the Rayman series, but for now I think I prefer Origins over Legends. That being said, I haven't completed Legends yet. I still need to play the Living Dead Party and the Origins remix levels, so perhaps those might change my mind!
