Not a bad selection of cblogs tonight, even if it did start off with a fail. There's quite a few community contests going on at the moment which is always good to see, so make sure to enter them!

I have to say I agree with JusticeDude in that I was quite underwhelmed by Bioshock. Maybe it's because I didn't buy it until a year after it came out, or that my FPS history is built upon so many classic games, but I just couldn't get into it and quit after only felling three Big Daddies. The story was interesting and I loved fetching the audio journals. Very much reminded me of System Shock 2 where all these little tidbits of story that expanded on the experience were scattered around the world for me to discover if I wanted to. Where the game failed me the most though was the combat. I heard stories about how much fun the Big Daddy fights can be, and was looking forward to them. I had also heard the stories about the vita-chambers, so when I started I made sure those were immediately turned off. When I finally encountered a few Big Daddies though, I was quite disappointed in just how easy they turned out to be. All I had to do to beat them was backpedal and circlestrafe. Heck, I'm pretty sure I could've beaten them with just the wrench if I was patient enough. Maybe that kind of fight is tough if you're new to first person shooters, or given the imprecise controls on a console, but I've been doing that stuff since Wolfenstein 3D so I was pretty disappointed.

Oh well, not like I don't have enough games to play these days. Finally started playing Alien Hominid HD after getting it on sale the other week, and it's pretty damn fun. Definitely a game I'll be playing on easy at first though. ;)
