Hello friends! I've been playing a bunch of new games this week. Like Wrenchfarm, I bought Nidhogg and Samurai Gunn on Steam. I played them for a bit with my boyfriend, and they were both super fun! I like Nidhogg a bit more, but it I bet Samurai Gunn would be crazy with four players. I've actually been looking forward to Nidhogg for a long time now, so I'm glad it's finally out. I'm a big fan of some of Messhof's older games, like Flywrench (such a great game!) and You Found the Grappling Hook, so when I heard he was working on something new I got pretty excited. And it turned out to be a fantastic game! Well worth the wait! I do wish the online matchmaking worked a little better, but the other modes are awesome, at least.
I've also been playing Chibi-Robo! Photo Finder on the 3DS. I think it's a really great direction for the Chibi-Robo series. The original game was really unique and charming, but it could be kind of a chore to play. It was neat exploring a huge house as a tiny little robot, but the mechanics made exploring seem like more work than it was worth. Photo Finder is more like a mini-game collection rather than an adventure game, which I actually kind of like more. My favorite mini-game so far is the sous-chef game, where you have to find specific foods in a huge fridge. The main part of the game, taking pictures of things to create NostalJunk, is also a neat idea, although it's a bit difficult for me because there's not a lot of great lighting in my apartment. The photos never seem to register very well with the game. Maybe I'll have to start playing when there's a lot of sunlight to use.
I also really like Telly's new smartphone design!
Lastly, I finally got around to playing and beating Link's Awakening! It was amazing, as I'm sure you all know already. That Wind Fish...
