Hello, everyone! This week, I became hopelessly addicted to Rogue Legacy, playing for hours on end on any given day. A single life usually doesn't last very long, but it's one of those games where I'll think, "OK, just one more try," and then somehow end up playing for another two hours.
I managed to beat the game once already, so now I'm working on new game plus, while also trying to take down the hidden bosses. They're super challenging! Astrodotus seems manageable, but I don't know how I'm going to beat the other three.
The coolest part of Rogue Legacy, of course, is the traits system. It keeps thinks fresh and unpredictable. I have my favorite traits, such as ADHD, Clumsy, Hypergonadism, Stereo Blind, Hypochondriac, Baldness and Gay, so I tend to pick those if I ever see them. Most of them are useful, while some of them, like Hypochondriac, just make me laugh, or others like Stereo Blind just kind of look cool. Even the ones that don't really do anything, like Baldness and Gay, are still kind of quirky and charming, so I like picking them. And then there are some traits that make the game a whole lot harder, like Vertigo which flips the entire screen upside down. I tend to avoid those traits, but they could be fun to choose for an added challenge.
I also tend to stick to the same classes; I try to only pick Paladin, Barbarian king, Assassin, or Hokage. I'm much more of a brawler than a magic-user, so the magic classes don't really appeal to me. And then, certain class/trait combinations can lead to awesome results. My favorite is Hokage with ADHD, since they become ridiculously fast!
Anyway, I think it's about time I jumped back into the game, so let's go ahead and finish up these recaps!
