Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
I realized I spelled "Brains" wrong, but then I realized its better that way
Sure, other films had ghouls and zombie-esque creatures, but Romero nailed the slow, shambling, flesh eating, pyrophobic walking dead we see today.
Glad you got to see such a classic on a big screen. Next up is the 1970's Dawn of the Dead, then Day of the Dead. Enjoy man!
There's a four-disc DVD boxset for the original Dawn that I can't recommend enough. Three versions of the film, each with a commentary track, tons of supplementary material (entire disc of documentary stuff!) Easily my favorite DVD boxset ever.
My favorite of the films is is still Day, though.
But yeah, what Conrad said. Get the boxed set of DotD. It's pretty spiffy. Besides the movie out itself, I wonder if they plan on doing anything special for Blu-ray.
People, like me, who have seen the original then the remake think what a giant piece of crap it is. Oh sure Zack Snyder is an ok-guy, and the movie itself was decent but "running zombies" wtf!
Oh and Day of the Dead is a personal favorite of mine, mainly because of the gore. Too bad Romero went the generic route and does CGI for the gore in all his zombie movies now.
