I hope everyone has had a happy 4th of July weekend, lighting off fireworks and eating lots of hamburgers and hotdogs. I actually threw a huge party last night with tons of food, friends, and alcohol, but I spent today just relaxing and being lazy. I did manage to get out of my house to see Toy Story 3 for the second time. That movie is freakin’ awesome, and if you haven’t seen it yet you need to go RIGHT NOW! Don’t wait, just get up from your computer and go to the theatre immediately.

So I wanted to bring up a major problem I’ve been having lately. I think I played way to many games in a short period of time at E3 and wore myself out. In other words I think I’ve had a major gaming overload and blown a fuse or something, because ever since I’ve gotten back I haven’t been able to play a single video game. I started both Alan Wake and Red Dead Redemption before I left for LA, but I’ve had no desire to pick them back up again to complete them. I even bought Dragon Age: Origins a couple days ago from the big Steam Summer Sale, but I don’t even want to play that. What is the matter with me? I need help guys. What should I do?

I have gotten back into reading lately, so that could be what’s stopping me from playing games. I’ve also been writing a lot more lately, so that could be a culprit as well. It does help that there aren’t any real good games coming out right now, so it’s a great time to take a break from gaming. I do know this drought will come to an end on July 27th when Starcraft II comes out. I’ve put down $100 for the collector’s edition of that game, so you can be damn sure I’m gonna be playing it.

Well that’s enough about me for one night. Let’s get you to your regularly schedules weekend recaps.

HAPPY INDEPENDANCE DAY AMERICA!!!

Fap the caps!

Hey, I'll trade you your inability to play for my inability to write something that isn't a potpurri blog!

All of the E3 certainly spoiled me, I barely touched many games after it was over. So much that I want to play these next few quarters. And Toy Story 3 is certainly worth all the rave reviews it's been getting. Saw it twice, broke down a lot both times. Those last fifteen minutes hit you really hard.

Dig these 'caps.

It rained on my 4th of july thing. At least the park didn't catch fire like 2 years ago.

Happy celebration of fire America!

Thanks for the caps. I'm trying to break away from games to read a bit more, so I think we're going to have to trade lives Freaky Friday style.

I wouldn't exactly call SansJason's article on Mass Effect 2 a review. He tossed in the review score bit at the end as an afterthought, but it was nothing resembling a review.

You really need to finish up both Alan Wake and Red Dead Redemption. They are both awesome games. I went through the same thing you went through not too long ago. I started up both games and couldn't bring myself to play anymore for about a week or two, but I forced myself to at least give them both a go for a little bit and I got hooked back on both games all the way until the end.

Seriously, continue on with those games. NOW!

Also, thanks for the caps!

Alan Wake was fun, definitely worth seeing to the end, kinda like these caps.

@Steezy/Occams: You should both read Wrenchfarm's Monthly Musing on 'Alan Wake, Synchronicity, and the Dark Presence' (to quote the title). It's an excellent read and didn't get the attention it deserves, I suspect because it's quite long - although he did include pictures this time! Definitely worth a look.
