I apologize, I just don't have much to say tonight. There are several great blogs in the topsauce, a couple of superb monthly musings. I considered posting a Michael Jackson video here, but I think there's plenty of that going around on the net right about now. So here's a tribute to a couple of other fallen celebrities instead.

*-This is an interesting story I hadn't heard anywhere else... did you know about the accusations of plagiarism regarding the Wii/PS2 versions of Ghostbusters? Read this and let Pagz fill you in.
*-Batthink's Musing discusses the untapped potential of the noble polygon's competition... Voxels. If you read this, you'll probably learn something new.
*-ThaFNFreak wrote about the unexpected, the left turn, the curveball for this month's Musing topic. Spoilers abound here, but it's worth it.
*-I think I do a reasonable job of keeping my internet life and my meatspace life separate. Elsa looks at why that's becoming harder, but is worth the effort.
*-Tavendale combined the Final Fantasy minigame Triple Triad with Pokemon, Futurama, Dragonball Z and pretty much anything else you can think of. Great introduction, welcome to Destructoid.

A-SpilledMilk shares some information about a free Quake-like FPS game called Warsow.
S-There's a healthy list of games that were released this week and at the bottom... Diabolik? As in the last and final MST3K ever aired?
S-Wry Guy's excellent series on getting the most out of Goozex wraps up with these advanced tips.
A-PrinceofCannedPeaches wrote quite a nice article about Battlefield Heroes and the history of the gateway game.

F-My brother downloaded the Rifftrax for the original Transformers and I think that's the only way you could ever get me to watch it again. Still, I'm forced to admit that Megan Fox is quite decorative. Here's an interview with the young lady, brought to you by Kris S.

L-Wilbo tackles his greatest challenge FOR CHILDREN in this strangely compelling video. A good soundtrack and snappy editing count for a lot.
R-Brian Keljore is living out his Real World: Destructoid fantasies via The Sims 3.

F-I don't. Wait. What?
F-Occasionally a post is so bizarre, so antithetical to what it should be, that I have a hard time coming up with a description. Call it a mental block if you will. I just find it very hard to believe that anyone who's been around long enough to want to participate in the monthly musings would miss the mark so badly.

I probably should have tried to find a younger clip of Ed McMahon, but this one made me laugh and besides, I think that guy was born 70 years old.

So a good chunk of writers of a silly cartoon went on to write for a cartoon that managed to be very dark but very deep? Interesting transition. Also, why did they make Egon's hair blonde in the cartoon? That makes no sense. :\

From what I've heard, there were at that time two separate but very unequal Ghostbusters cartoon shows airing, caused by a legal mixup in who owned the rights to the name. (You can see the intro for the other show here, though I don't endorse doing so in any way if you wish to preserve your sanity.) This is why the cartoon version we're more familiar with has "The REAL" on the title screen. It may not have been the best cartoon of my formative years, but it holds up better than a lot of the licenced dreck I grew up watching.

As for Egon's buttery flowing hair, your guess is as good as mine. Perhaps he was experimenting with using Vigo slime as a leave-in conditioner or something. You've gotta admit, his look is distinctive.

Separately, I had a whole bunch of toys for the fake Ghostbusters and The Real Ghostbusters. I was either a stupid kid, my parents were indescriminate regarding Ghostbusters, or a realized that the fake Ghostbuster ghosts made for adequate bustering.

Oh god, what was that intro, I am confused.

Distinctive as it is, it just feels far too different for my tastes, but I can deal with it. Slime conditioner, I feel like that was an actual product that was made in the early days, but I can't remember ever existing. I would have bought many bottles of it, regardless of how likely bad it would have been in my hair.
