After finding out about Fullmetal when I was like 12 from the shortly lived Anime Central programming in the UK and then devoting so much of life t reading the manga I'm not ashamed to say I almost cried a bit at the ending. Not just because it was sad but the feeling that you spent so much time on reading this and now it's gone is very depressing.

To tell the truth I was slightly unsatisfied with the Deux Ex Machina end that breaks the equivalent exchange rule completely till I read over some of the older chapters and realised it was all leading up to Ed's realisation of what alchemy has done to him and I suppose the only thing equal to alchemy is alchemy.

Hopefully that description was spoiler free but I'll like to know what other people felt about the ending? Too much? Too little? Not enough ARMSTRONG!?

I thought the ending was a bit too overdone with the final boss looking like an amalgamation of the Hohenheim family, but I thought the train scene with Winry was fantastic.

I also realized that 3 of my top manga (FMA, Ai Kora, and To-Love-Ru) have ended recently and I need a new fix.

I want to find time to try and get some time for Brotherhood in, but I have yet to finish watching the original series. All I know is that it'll take time for me to ready myself for watching it again, since I know there are going to be moments as depressing as that chimera episode, likely even more so.

I vaguely remember having this argument with someone before and I can't remember if it was you. Armstrong is a great character, but no character in the history of history can touch Meas Hughes.

This is absolutely and without a doubt my favorite manga and anime of all time. The last several chapters were some of the most epic things I have ever read. I love the new Brotherhood as well. It is ridiculously well animated. The only problem I have is with some of the new English voice overs are cringe worthy.
