Welcome to February, ladies and gentlemen. I was looking over my recaps from January, and... well, I came to the conclusion that I'm either a fragile, delicate flower or a whiny little bitch. Each of them mentioned some malady or disease that had laid me low. You know what? I'm sick of being sick. I hereby resolve not to mention any deviation from my normal state of excellent health in my capacity as a cblog recapper... after this evening. If anyone catches me doing otherwise, I give you permission to track me down and slap me in the face with a bag of hot nickels.

Would you like to play a game? It should be no surprise to regular readers of these posts that I am a Simpsons fanatic. In honor of the show's 20th anniversary, I'm going to make it a point to hide a Simpsons reference in each recap I do for the rest of the year. (I've been doing so anyway, may as well make it official.) If you're the first to catch it, post a comment at the end of the blog with what you think it was and I'll post the winner in the next week's recap header. I'll keep a running total of who catches the references, and at the end of the year I may just have a prize for whoever ends up with the most.

Except this one. Contest starts... Now!

Some decent stuff in the blogs today. A mini-meme kicked off after Jim Sterling's article about Heavy Rain hit the web, Chad's getting pumped for the Puppy Bowl, and several developers made their names known today.

*-This is quite a Sterlingesque jab at Sterling himself. Like, way meta, dude.
*-Blehman is also pretty meta. And Xyzliac discovered a fundamental truth: Jim Sterling is like bacon.
*-The hits just keep on coming as RenegadePanda throws his hat into the ring.
*-And BrandNamecommercial takes things to their logical conclusion.
*-Chad posted... D'awwww. Lookit the puppy! Lookit his widdle paws!
*-CelicaCrazed might be a little disgraceful, but his confession makes for some entertaining reading.

A-Nekobun jumped on the bandwagon a little late, and Kraid had run out of Kirk .gifs by this point.
A-Clum-Z-Boy sure has been enjoying Mass Effect 2!
A-NihonTiger90, however, is scared of it.
A-Squirrelygod thinks the comments on our more controversial editors have fallen into a predictable sort of pattern, and backs it up with Deadpool. Hard to argue with that.
S-Nekobun's series on what Nintendo games would make good MMOs continues with this look at Metroid. I couldn't disagree with this choice more, but for why you'll have to check the comments.
S-Wry Guy may just be the biggest King of Fighters fan on the whole internet. Here's his love letter to KoF '95.
S-Dead Pixel Society Discussion gets off to a great start with their look at the action RPG Soul Blazer.
M-January may be over, but that doesn't mean you can't still expound on the Future. Zulkyr takes a look at the future of Real-time Strategy.

No contests today. Future winners of my thingy may show up here as well as the header.

E-PAX east is only 6 weeks away! DanLHaas wants you to be there or kindly be square.
I-Greetings to Space Monkeez, who managed to misspell "Destructoid" in his initial post. Rough start.
I-Welcome also to MurderMamba, whose initial post is a great, in-depth look at the "morality slider" in Mass Effect.
I-CapsuleX's introduction contained a mini-rant on Final Fantasy 9.
I-And our final introduction today is from Rizzerex, who started off on a bad foot but seems willing to learn.
R-Sega's pulling the plug on Phantasy Star Universe. Nekobun is not here to praise PSU, but to bury it.
B-Happy (belated) Birthday to the goddamn Batman.
H-Been far too long since I've seen someone's setup in the blogs. JusticeDude does it and does it right.
H-Not to be outdone, Kryptinite shows off his new and improved gaming setup. Try not to get jealous.

N-FuriousGeorge reports on the "New" "Sega" "Console."
P-MikeyD did a preview/review of the PCMMORPGFPS Global Agenda. If you understand that alphabet soup there, you're probably already the game's target audience.
T-Steve Scott breaks out the hoverbike for a profanity-laced, controller-flinging look back at Battletoads.
T-BloodyNine pontificated on EA's sudden lust for anime.
T-Jonathan Holmes has been playing No More Heroes 2 and offers up some thoughts on Suda 51's first direct sequel.
T-Zulkyr would like to know what adjectives you use to describe games?
P-For fans of Mixed Martial Arts, Andy Basantes has a question. Which of the competing MMA games are you more looking forward to?
D-Garganroo's game has a tenuous link to Heavy Rain, as one of the early names considered was "The Origami Killer."
D-PaulMode7's game Frozen Synapse has run into some problems, as all indie titles do. Here he explains how they've been dealt with, and invites questions from the community.

No culture today. We are a passel of Philistines.

V-Josh Bourgeois' quirky look at Sony's marketing department (aka the "stickdouches") is totally worth your 30 seconds.
C-Not a bad blog, but we generally like to get to know people before they start cross posting from other sites.
C-This is the sort of question that the forums excel at answering.
C- As is this.
C-I think this is about Kudegra's attempts to use a Dualshock 3 with his PC.
?-SAMA1984 is planning on writing up the adventures of some forumgoers and their supporting cast. Could be interesting.

F-Whether this is an ad or a troll, I'm not certain. Either way, it's unequivocally a failure.
F-This is undoubtedly a fail blog. But the .gif Kraid posted in response makes up for it in spades.

Thanks for the topsauce and recaps ^_^

Also, "be there or kindly be square" sounds like something Skinner would say.

Close! Very close, just the wrong speaker. No one has it yet, though. Did I start out with one that was too hard?

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?

Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
