Sorry for the late caps! It was Canada day on Tuesday so i went and did Canadian stuff (drinking beer, chopping wood, holding open doors, etc) and on Wednesday I went to go see a live stage production of Welcome To Night Vale at the beautiful Elgin theatre in Toronto. It was a hell of a mid-week weekend and I had a great time.
I'd like to talk about some videogame things, but I'm late enough as it is. If you aren't doing anything else this afternoon, maybe check out this blog I wrote about Risk: Legacy back on Friday
. Risk: Legacy is a super cool game with a deft mastery of design and vision. If you're really into "game design" as a thing (and I bet you are since you're the kind of Morlock who reads the C-Blogs) you need to check it out, you'll learn something about yourself as a player and what makes games interesting.
* - Dead Nation sounds like a bummer.
A - Saint's Row is nothing if not honest. The game and characters are what they are with no pretention.
A - Germany is still super weird about it's censorship rules. Guts, limbs, and haircuts?
A - Mojang is laying down the law on grubby Minecraft pay-to-play servers.
N - Ouya is doing a thing.
R - Shovelknight looks spectacular, it's just a matter of when I pick it up.
C - A giant wall of text where a living, breathing thesaurus mopes about his grim dissatisfaction with gaming. Marvel as he openly anticipates being disappointed by a game he hasn't even played yet for vague, pretentious reasons. Please everyone, writing like you're an 18th century Count Chocula doesn't make you seem intelligent or interesting, it's just annoying.
F - Fuck off.
