Hello... Are you feeling it yet? That E3
antsy feeling? We're only *checks calender*
two weeks away from the biggest* gaming event of the year. The basics are known ahead of time this round, as the Big 3 have revealed their general plans, and even 2/3 showings, of the consoles themselves. Plus the Wii U has already been out for half a year. So the actual reveals aren't what we're looking at.
I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. It's all about games, features, and, now, restrictions. No distracting us with shiny new consoles! There's a lot of cynicism floating around, and I can't really blame anyone for it. Is there anything you think will get you excited? Something to wash the bitter taste of bad news out of your mouth? Looks like Nintendo just announced another (for Japan) Direct about Monster Hunter 4
and Ace Attorney 5.
Hopefully we'll see the release of the former not terribly long after Japan.
With Chad gone, how will we make our predictions this year? Anyone got any ideas?
A - Which game is a prime example of the middle ground between triple-A and indie? Asterion gives us his thoughts.
A - Jinx 01 has a fantastic piece about the unique storytelling that only videogames can accomplish. Would you kindly read it?
A - AboveUp has another look at Sonic the Hedgehog from an interesting angle. Old Sonic was a little slow...
A - voex has some familiar feelings about what happened to the Resident Evil series.
S - The newest entry in the community-driven series Save State. This one was written by TronKim, who chose to focus on Einhander. Not often you think SHMUP when discussing narrative.
P - Podtoid fans are (correctly) referred to as "The Shattered." They've somehow drummed up enough brainpower to start their own fucking podcast. Hide your holes.
P - Apparently some of the Shattered are from Brit-land, so you'll be getting new (unofficial) episodes of Brittoid as well.
T - PopetheRevXXVIII likes the fact that the Dreamcast is still getting games, but he wants something other than SHMUPS. I can agree with that.
T - The XboxUno seems to have irritated yet another potential customer. Wagner Paiva Fernandes ain't havin' it.
T - Lance Icarus is ready for the battle that is E3, becasue he's not declaring a winner until he sees some damn GAMES.
T - Wee Tiny Tim gets can't afford used games of the future.
M - Zombie Orwell (who is him) brings Stereotoid back to life (kinda like a zombie) and reviews an exciting album from Eiffel 65 called Europop. I like this "Blue" song.
F - TronKim shares his thoughts on his favorite Bleach character, Rukia Kuchiki.
L - PopetheRevXXVIII has "The Xbox One Song" for us. Stick this computer somewhere.
F - Eh...kinda funny. Needs more dog.
F - Not real news. But you never know, man!
