I've read all the bad reviews everywhere about how Square shouldn't have meddled in the shooter genre, but I decided to pick this up anyway in the $19 bargain section - and am I ever glad I did.

The cut scenes in this are nothing short of glorious and on par with the CG in the Advent Children movie. Once you get used to the play controls, and customize your weapons a bit, this title really is blissful.

Sure, it may be fan service, but who do you know that isn't (deep down somewhere in the depths of their soul) a Final Fantasy fan?

Might be good bargin big fodder..but not full price stuff?

I bought it full price and thought it was worth it. NO, it was not a uber great game, but it was worth playing through for the sole purpose of getting time with your fav FF characters, and filling in the gaps in the storyline...

I got it for free and I still haven't played it.

It really isn't that bad. It's kinda weird on how it mixes up action, but lets face it: nobody plays this game without first playing FFVII, so a lot of the stuff it was graded by doesn't really apply in the same way as other games are.

okay... if you look at it like a movie it was good, tons of vincent story about g and soldier... but when you get near the end all your time customizing is pointless
because you turn into epicness with epic gun and its over.

I also bought it at full price. I kept it for a while. I'd give it a 3 out of 5 stars

I don't think it lived up to the standard of 'Final Fantasy', but it was still a decent game. I don't think it would be worth full price (I'm lucky I didn't get it the day it came out), but it's definitely something to pick up for $19.99.

i too liked it.i don't see why everyone hates on it unless for leaving the rpg catagory, i thought it was enjoyable. maybe i should bust it out and finish it...
