Recently, GayGamer.net was attacked and brought down by a cowardly group of homophobic script kiddies. The site, forums, and server was bombarded with hateful and disgusting filth. Oversize pictures where posted, threatening emails were sent, and the site was hit with a Denial of Service attack.

Hatred of this magnitude is simply disgusting and intolerable. A community was attacked, a community thats entire purpose was to bring people together where they can feel safe, and have fun with one another. It is not a political site, it is not a religious site, it is a site dedicated to video games, and the people who play them. As gamers this was as much an attack to those who frequent that site as it is to those who frequent this.

Those people were not saying anything to anyone, they were not attacking any group, they were not conspiring to do anything, and yet they were attacked. Struck down in their own house.

They play video games.

We play video games.

This was an attack on gamers.

The fact that they were gay was only the tipping point for that particular group.

I say we stand back up and help our friends continue on. Not with hate or malice, but with pity. A pity for those in our world who are so scared and insecure, that they can only receive sexual gratification from their left hand when they make others feel bad and different.

It does not matter what your sexual preference is.

We are all people.

We are all gamers.

And I will not let cowering rats spread any thought of doubt or fear to any of us who only wish to play games, and have a good time.
