See that photograph? Those are 6 games that I haven't even touched yet. They sit on my bookshelf and gather dust, because I simply can't give these games the time they deserve.
To me, video games can be a huge commitment. I enjoy losing myself in another world for a few hours at a time. I hate to begin a game, and then stop playing it for an extended period of time. It takes away from the experience, somewhat.
With my time being eaten up by school, class, and some semblance of a social life, there are some games that I just haven't been able to pick up, for fear that I won't have time for them later. So right now, my gaming is limited to quick pick-up-and-play titles like Smash Bros, Mario Party, etc.
Of the six titles pictured, the ones that I really think deserve an extended commitment are Okami and RE4. But until things lighten up, it looks like they'll be sitting on my shelf for some time to come.
What do you guys think? Do you find yourself putting off playing a game that you feel deserves quality time? Or do you just play any game whenever it's convenient?
I feel your pain though. No doubt about that.
All in all, I'm excited to see some Clover love here! Grab God Hand :D
Since I always have 20+ games in my backlog at a time, here's my suggestion.
Play the shorter games first, then work your way down the pile.
So for this list, it would be Viewtiful Joe/Battlefront II/Red Faction, then Resident Evil 4, then Metroid Prime 1, 2, and 3, then Okami.
I've always attempted to make room in my schedule for games (college student). Whether it's downtime at work, or those brief (seriously) 2 hours in-between my first and second classes this semester, I try to make space if there isn't a lick of work to take care of first (usually, it's the opposite case). It helps to have a girlfriend that enjoys gaming as well, though.
But even my DS, which I consider to be my partner in crime...I've hardly taken that with me to school this semester (versus past ones), simply because with the homework they give I've got no time for it. That kinda speaks volumes for my other consoles (360, PS2, Wii).
But organize! Put a weekend together to tackle VJ when school gets out. We're gamers dammit...there's always a way around that annoying "ice frog" called life (DMC 4 reference, sorry).
Good Luck
Also, I think I you should trade up RE4 and get the Wii version. It's much more enjoyable, imo.
