No Weapons!
Scouts Only!
Final Destination!
Tonight we're going to try something a bit different, I want to try to do a pick-up game. For those of you who have never played one its fairly simple. Once the server gets up to 16 people, I will load the map we chose to play and 'pause' the game.
Two captains will each join a side and everyone else will join spectator. Captains alternate picking people until the teams fill out. Should you join in the middle of a game just chose Auto-Assign so you get placed on the team with less people.
I'm thinking we should turn all talk off to make things a little more interesting. After the match is over, we can chose a new map, new captains and repeat.
New Maps:
Death Killer's ctf_LetDown - based on the aperture map, I hope we can get a chance to test this tonight
Maps Taken Off the Server:
gas_kaboom
cp_shock
cp_toy_fort_beta2
murderball_b2
Map pack can be
downloaded here
Again, if you would like to get placed on the reserved slot list for dtoid readers, please POST YOUR STEAMID HERE.

Oh wait, it's TF2.
Also I don't totally understand how the picking works, but I'll find out soon I guess.
Regarding pickups, the teams the first round seemed incredibly balanced. I can't speak for others, but when you've been picked for a class role, your reputation is on the line, so I think that helps motivate me to not goof off and play hard. It felt like it, and very fun. Sometimes, alltalk on is good for goofing off, especially for new maps, but having serious scrims with even teams and team-only talk strats is a great change-up. And not having Kor there was just gravy. Bastard canuck always pweens me. Thanks Caffeine!
I also learned I was a great defence Scout.
Criticsm:NONE.
Yes, I liked that Letback map.
Yay EDF!
As for feedback, it was a lot of fun. Usually took a bit to get going, and one team always seemed to completely dominate, but it was still fun.
Thanks for the feedback since overall most people liked it we'll likely do this again.
What I would ideally like to see though I don't think it would happen, would be to choose teams on IRC
Maybe the team choosing can be pre done on the clbogs.
Also, moar communication for strategies is good.
My comp blew a bad sector on the ram so I'm waiting for replacement parts. I regret missing last night :(
I'll be there next Tuesday for probably about a half an hour :(
Not that I condemn the picks, but I would like the game to start very quickly and each commander would just use the available resources. It's awesome that one says the team needs more of one class and one changes.
