New game type tonight, ktf, short for King of The Flag, which is basically a game of keep-away, grab the flag and run. The maps are similar in size to arena maps and so far there's about 4 ktf maps out there. The person who made the game mode wanted me to convert arena_starship, so I figured we'd try it tonight to see if there might be any odd gameplay quirks that would make me need to change something on starship to fit.

Arena_Wildwest - Showdown at high noon

ktf_chemistry_v1 - New game type, grab the center flag and hold it

ctf_stowaway_b5c - A bit rough around the edges, but I hope it plays well

cp_oilfield - Looks fairly well made, I just hope its optimized properly

FPS Banana's servers seem to be down so I'm pulling all the maps from TF2Maps.net for this week. There's a new version of Avanti that I'd like to give another go, as well as a cool space themed CTF map and another custom payload map.

ctf_spacebase_b1a - CTF on a space station, seems this one makes the space theme actually work fairly well

cp_shabbytown_b2 - very good looking cp map, screenshots remind me a bit of dustbowl

pl_heywood_beta4 - looks really nice, but then again, so did the payload map we did last week

avante_b1 - We tried one port a while ago, that mostly crashes out, this one looks more optimized for TF2 play

Finally got my new card installed yesterday and TF2 plays smoother than ever. Just three maps this week, things seem to have been going a bit more slowly on the new release front and even less so on the quality portion. All three maps this week look pretty good and I look forward to playing with all of you for like the first time in almost a month.

ctf_backwards_b1 - Push style CTF, much like epicenter, and I think TF2 really needs more of these

pl_cranetop_b3 - Finally a good looking and reasonably sized PL map

tc_atlantic_v1 - Final version of Atlantic, not as good looking as something like meridian, but hopefully it will play just as well

Still won't be around as I'm still waiting on the replacement card Asus is so graciously giving me for free since my old one burned out almost two weeks ago. However, Exanimo has an alpha ready of the map he has been working on, ctf_godspeed, so lets give it a go and see how it plays.

ctf_godspeed_a1 - by Exanimo, screenshots look nice, despite being dev textures. Hopefully it will turn out good.

ctf_bankjob_b2 - looks very pretty, is also a fairly large download due to custom models, reviews state that it plays well

cp_arena_trains_b2 - for some reason I just like any map with trains in them (ref: freightyard)

cp_monkey_b3 - port of a tfc map, however unlike its counterpart, its cp instead of CTF, I think it looks fairly nice and think it might play well in a TF2 environment.
