I have no intention of using this blog as some sort of political soap box, but this rant full of flawed logic and video game blasphemy shall not go unnoticed. Granted, I was done with Guitar Hero once they made a deal with the devil and got Aerosmith involved, but this illogical rant is uncalled for!

If Hitler had played Guitar Hero though....whoo boy.

Article I found with the video: http://crooksandliars.com/node/25782

This is so painful to watch. I found it helped to think of him as Colbert, if I pretend like this the idiocy becomes a smart satire.

Glenn Beck is nothing more than a fucking fear mongering asshole and should be dragged through the streets while onlookers beat him to death as he passes by. Him and Bill "loofah" O'Reilly.

Since when has Fox News ever been a viable source for news?

Meh, I don't really think that's video game blasphemy. I think it's a safe bet a 12 year old kid knows Guitar Hero better than their parent.

But yea the rest was completely flawed logic. I think brainwashing German kids to become Nazis is a little more scary than brainwashing kids to drive a hybrid car.

I usually hate Glenn Beck, but I don't really get the problem with what he's saying. Gore is trying to promote his agenda, an agenda that is often not based on anything factual, by playing on the egos of impressionable young children.

And when did Glenn Beck move to Fox? I stopped watching the MSM awhile back and was unaware he jumped ship.

This is the most idiotic thing I've heard in a while, and thats impressive considering the amount of stupidity I'm faced with on a daily basis. Glenn starts off acting like a crybaby because he took a quote from Gore that was obviously out of context, and made it seem like a personal attack. After that, he just becomes completely nonsensical. Glenn tries to then go into describing some post-apocalyptic scenario. But no, the stupidity doesn't stop there. He then quotes Joseph Goebbels, and tries to make it seem like there's a connection with him talking at a global warming conference and nazi youth. The ironic part, however, is that the quote he used seems to mirror our own education system, and not what Gore was doing. In summary, Glenn Beck is just a fucking idiot. End of story.

This is the right wing in a nutshell - take one innocuous phrase (seriously, how evil is it to tell kids to not implicitly trust 100 percent of the assumptions their generation or their parents' has lived with? Heck, who honestly thinks that kids would stop questioning anything if we just stopped putting the idea in their heads?) and attach it, without the least bit of hesitation or rational thought, to Hitler, Socialism, or both. Seriously, conservatives are starting to look more and more like an irate Basil Fawlty - "This is EXACTLY how Nazi Germany started!!"

Whether you agree with Gore or not, this is just plain stupid.

@RON

Its not news. Its propaganda. And millions of Americans watch Fox News and soak it up like its truth.
The thing that scares me the most about these guys is that they have children.

Ugh, this exemplifies so much of what is wrong with the way the US sees education and youth these days. "Kids can't possibly understand things us big important adults haven't already known for years. Computers? Those are just an excuse to play The Guitar Hero and Mario Guy on. We adults know what's right about any and everything, just let us handle it all." Pompous bastard.

I'll be one of the first to say that I don't like Al Gore. However, Beck is really twisting what Gore more than likely meant, which is that a lot of young people(not all) have more common sense than their parents. Part of it being that young people are more open to other ideas and as you get older you're pretty much set in your ways.
