OK, so I've just came back from my leave and I have to tell you one thing... SNOWBOARDING ROCKZZZZzzzzz...!
Well OK, it's painful and unforgiving when you make a mistake, first three days on board will probably be the worst days in your entire life, but after you get through them you'll realize how enjoyable and pleasing this sport can be. Shredding (yeah right, more like striving for survival with my current experience & skills) down the hill, wind whooshing in your ears, nature all around (trees, squirrels and stuff all laughing with you and waving as you glide by, Disney like). So where do games fit into all of this? Simple I just want to make the felling last, so I was wondering which of them computer games to pick up?
I was considering SSX 3 or SSX on Tour but can't make my mind up. Or are there any other titles worth checking out, better than those above?
I'd really appreciate your help.
Oh yes and also first post, so... uh hi everybody :]
Either of those two are great. I kinda dug 3 a tiny bit more, but that's just me. On Tour adds skis, but they pretty much play the same as the snowboards. I'm sure you can find either of them used for pretty cheap. And welcome!
I'd pick SSX: On Tour just because the soundtrack is better compared to the techno crap of SSX, the shit rap of SSX Tricky, and the confusing remixes of great rock songs from SSX 3.
Gameplay wise, SSX: On Tour isn't bad. It's just the "create-a-skater" feature feels tacked on.
The main reason On Tour got lower reviews is because it really didn't evolve the series much beyond 3, other than skis and an art style / music update. It was pretty much SSX 3.5.
Tricky was great, but the open mountain of 3 / On Tour blows it away. :)
DO NOT PICK SSX ON TOUR. Well, that's what I say anyway. I bought SSX3 second hand and loved it. I played it to death. It was amazing. So when I heard a new SSX was coming out I went and purchased it for £39.99. I hated it. I can't remember exactly why because I haven't played it for a couple of years, but I thought it was no where near what SSX3 was. So I say go for SSX3.

SSX 3 is epic.
On Tour got lower reviews and all around likings across the board. But I've never played it.
But I love SSX3. There are some things I like in Tricky better, but that's easily eclipses by the rest it does have.
SSX tricky, best one ever.

SSX3 and the original Amped FTW!
SSX3 is an amazing experience, IMO. I haven't played on tour.
The way the mountain unlocks, coupled with the great characterizations, and a really good soundtrack (for the game at least), it really is a must get.
Because (spoilers? for a sport game? I guess) doing the full mountain run is the most righteous half hour, non stop gaming moment I've ever had.
I've been loving Amped 3 for the 360 recently. It's an old game but really fun
Thanks for your comments! I appreciate them very much.
I'll check the Amped thingy (read some reviews) and probably will go for the SSX3 ;) (skis are bad and you have to watch out for too many legs)
