I've been rolling around the idea of creating a community blog series for a couple of months now, and I've finally settled on topic. As often as video game protagonists and antagonists are discussed, there never seems to be a very deep character evaluation of either. For any video game to even exist, a protagonist and antagonist must be present. They aren't always tangible people or creatures, a good example of an intangible protagonist is the falling blocks in Tetris.

From the simple plumber to the purple dragon, video games provide a wide array of protagonists for us to control. I'm sure many of you have a favorite hero you like to possess, or an antagonist that you enjoy pursuing.
