Oh man, you can tell when someone of my stature isn't around much (wait, read the next sentence). For those of you who are brand new, I'm the sarcastic guy. Howdy kiddos. Today I come to you with an important message. That message? Call of Duty 4 is a badass awesome game, however, Battlefield: Bad Company is more badass. The story in COD4 is pretty much your standard "blah blah someone from a country that isn't America is going to do something bad. We better fucking shoot them." I am burned out on this storyline and will be for about the next 5 years. "Well then what more motivation is there than your own life and the safety of our country, Camtub?? Seriously? Do I need to answer that? Ok, I'll tell you. How about this? The original motivation for ALL movies, cartoons, and stories before the year 1950:
Yeah! That's right! Mother fuckin' GOLD BARS! This game starts out like COD4 but then quickly turns into Uncharted when four AWOL soldiers realize that the enemy is being paid in gold bars. So they go into enemy territory with the goal of getting these gold bars...and somehow then get them out of the country, which is Russia, and back home. Sign me up dude. The characters are nothing special at all but they fit and make the game fun. Bad Company breaks the rules of the military shooter by poking fun at itself while at the same time giving any critics very little to...criticize. The game is able to have linear gameplay without feeling like it. In COD4 you are practically following a path through the entire game. That's fine, but Bad Company gives you a lot more "breathing room" and feels a lot more open (a strength Battlefield games have always had). I write all this because I feel as if Bad Company has been overlooked even though it's a big title game from a semi-big developer. DICE rocked the shit out of this game. Tomorrow I will tell you why the multiplayer is better than COD4 too.

I like to practice my "quote whore" abilities when I have the time.
If I buy this can we play online together (I get to be Clooney!)?
.....sorry im a little stressed out at work. J/K guys....
Im currently trying to play through the campaign but I know im gonna slack off and never finish it but it defininitly has more character than COD4
GT: Roncore
Sorry dude, have to disagree here. The campaign in BC to me basically felt like a series of multiplayer matchs with bots and a few jokes sprinkled in.
The plot premise in COD4 may be generic, but the presentation is fucking phenomenal. From the on-rails execution mission, to the nuclear blast, to the climax, the story emphasizes sacrifice and the futility of war in a way that no other shooter has been able to do. In the end, you manage to save 40 million people, but all your friends are dead and no one will ever know your name.
Granted, COD and BC are going for two entirely different tones, but I believe COD is just on an entirely different level.
Is this game more or less manly than EDF?
That was exactly what i thought when i played the demo, and still, is much fun. Alright, the plot don´t look new, but the game is hilarious, just as the movie was!!!
There is some news over the net that this game sold 1.8 million copies, well i don´t know if that´s true, but if is, it´s a huge number in so short time...
Well, my copy is coming too... :D
When a game more manly than EDF comes out I hope I will be dead because I wouldn't be able to handle something like that. OK!?!!?
Good to hear other opinions on the game. I am a total moron for not even thinking about the Three Kings movie when playing the game. I guess it was so obvious I missed it. Haha but anyway - yes I will be on tonight playing multiplayer - if you want in message Butmac on XBL
I could care less about the single player.
Go back to playing a game where people cannot be owned.
I also HIGHLY doubt that that Bad Company has ANY moments that rival the nuke explosion and the ending of CoD4.
