I'm sure a lot of you went to see the amazing
Iron Man over the weekend. If you've been living under a concrete slab since Thursday though, you may not have heard about how well this movie has been received as well as how successful it was (100.7 mill - kaching!). But as
this article points out, this movie should very much be considered for altleast a few Oscars.
But, of course, this won't happen because Hollywood as a whole is COMPLETELY out of touch, not just with ordinary people, but really all of reality. Let's face it - it was a miracle that Little Miss Sunshine and Juno were nominated for Best Picture. You have to make yourself ugly or play a horrible human being to get recognized for acting.
300 had the best Cinematography in a film last year and it didn't have a snowball's chance of getting nominated because it was a "comic book movie." There are smart people in the entertainment industry (like always) but there are an overwhelming amount of assholes too (like always).
I predicted back in January that Heath Ledger would get a nomination for Best Actor by the Academy and with more footage of his performance being revealed, I firmly stand by that statement. But as the above article states, Robert Downey Jr. HAS to be on a shortlist of favorites already. Also, Visual Effects.
/proud of Marvel
Im not syaing that I have a short attention span, some of the movies that make it to the Oscars actually deserve being there, but when something is just written well, and not executed in the same manner on the big screen, then that shit should be in the garbage.
