Why do you keep pulling me in, Guitar Hero?
Bunny Avenger | 2:41 PM on 09.23.2009 6 comments

I found Guitar Hero Arcade at my local pizza buffet. Initially, I was excited. I expected it to be like DDR. My dollar should get me three chances to show off my plastic guitar skills. I was shocked to find the "Thanks For Playing" after just one song, one that I had previous played in the game. They were going to charge me to play what I already had, and not even give me a chance to pick something else?! That day I swore off putting any more money into Guitar Hero.

Yesterday, I was browsing through my Fry's and found On Tour:Decades for 18 bucks, Grip included. I struggled to resist, walked forward, and found myself running back to pick it up before someone else did......I feel so dirty inside.

Eh... buying the home versions are money well spent... but yeah I agree the arcade game is a complete waste... I refuse to play that sucker.

@falinter,
it gets worse. At my arcade, it's $1 for a regular song, and $2 for a "premium" song. Stay classy Activision!

£1 for one song
£2 for a "premium" song
Limited selection of songs (seriously, I need TTFatF to show off, damnit)
Heavy guitars
No straps (although I think that's the one I was on)
Really bad timing windows
Dodgily stiff strum bar that makes Hard/Expert impossible

All reasons my £1 goes into playing 6 tracks of DDR. Then promptly passing out afterwards.
