Bitchin @ Dtoid: Uncharted Drake's Review.
Bricfa | 9:09 PM on 11.29.2007 16 comments

Uncharted: Drakes Fortune was released on November 19th. It has been ten days since then. Why is it that a review is taking so long? And yes, according to this post by Niero they had plans to review it.

So what the hell is taking so long? I demand the robots official opinion. Nine days is more than enough time to do the review.

I was writing my own review, but never got around to finishing it.

I fail.

@ Brifca:

We never received a review copy from Sony, which we were expecting. I've yet to even PLAY the full retail game yet, so unfortunately, I can't review it.

Would we have liked to and did we plan to? Certainly. It just didn't happen. There's certainly no anti-Sony shenanigans going on here.

The new PS3 review that I know is going to be happening should be the PSN title Pain.

I'm not implying any kind of bias. I was just wondering what the deal was. I think it should have been done by now.

thanks for the reply (love that about dtoid.) do you mean to say there will be no review? better late than never IMO.

@ Brifca:

I'd love to be able to get a review up of the game, but there are a few things to consider. For many of us, Destructoid isn't a full-time gig ... it's a labor of love, for the most part. That said, both time and money are factors here.

Hopefully in the very near future, you'll be able to set your watch by the consistency of our reviews, at least for the larger titles.

I replied twice, because it was just THAT serious. And what Nex said.

Uncharted. Humm.

Well, it is visually really nice and the controls are pretty tight. However you're going to be doing a LOT of the same thing. Not as repetitive as Assassin's Creed but I found myself just sorta playing through for the hell of it.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the game and it was fun. Just...the game really doesn't throw any twists at you whatsoever until the way way way way end. Once that twist was thrown at me, my game play enjoyment went up tenfold.

Then it ended.

Stop waiting for a review and go rent it. Its got its own achievement system.

You're right to call me on that. We intended to pick up the game and review it but didn't take into consideration the mountain of catch-up work following the holiday. Its still on my agenda but I'm afraid our review won't be timely, if at all going up. Instead, I'm up late tonight working on our new UK podcast. Since we're on a time crunch I gotta pick my battles :)

@niero

Keep doing what you do man. You're busy as fuck, I'm sure someone in the community will end up reviewing it if it hasn't already been done.
Bricfa's Destructoid Blog
maybe you guys can make a LTTP review sometime.
mistic's Destructoid Blog
they're too busy playing it :-)

I reckon we get get the essence of what the review would be from the sheer willpower shown by the dtoid staff that sorta... exudes (not sure its the right word) from the site
