Hey guys, I'm one of the new news interns for Destructoid! Before I became an intern, my account name was APeacefulPanda so I'm sure you've seen me around before. I started a c-blog but I never did a proper intro, so I feel this is an appropriate time as ever to tell you guys a bit about myself.

So first off my name is Brett Zeidler and I study Computer Science at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Gaming has had a pivotal role in my life ever since I played the first Mortal Kombat for the Sega Genesis when I was around the age of three. Ever since then I've owned every new console that has come out and experienced as many new games as I possibly could.

I don't have a particular favorite game of all time, but the Metroid series is definitely my favorite franchise. The one game that changed my life and convinced me that I wanted to make games was Halo: Combat Evolved. Something about the entire package of Halo: CE came together in such an amazing way that has resonated with me on such a level that no other game has ever been able to come close. Hearing the music, seeing the landscapes, and experiencing the gameplay that made console FPS's the way they are today is an experience I hope to experience again someday.

Fighting games have also always had a special place in my heart as well. Not only was a fighting game my first gaming moment I can remember, but I vividly remember playing Marvel Vs. Capcom on the PlayStation for hours on end. I've never been particularly good at any fighting game, but man do I have fun playing them.

Outside of gaming I go to school, as I've said earlier, and I am a huge music nerd and a musician as well. I played the trumpet for about seven years until picking up a guitar, which I've been teaching myself to play for over four years now.

I'm not really good at these intro things, so that's all I really have for you guys. I am so happy that I get the amazing opportunity to help contribute to Destructoid, and I hope you guys enjoy having me around. I've been a part of communities before, but there is simply no other community like Destructoid's out there. Thanks for being so awesome guys!

PANDAMONIUM!

Best of luck being an intern!
Live the dream Brett!
Congratulations on making intern. From the sheer number of interns Dtoid has now, i really hope there's an endgame which entails a fight to the death with an editor's position going to the winner. If so, remember you should always go for the eyes.
It's the ZDIDLER! Yeah, I made that up. Enjoy.
Ah yes, you were the guy with that creepy panda avatar. Nice to see Destructoid adding community members to it's staff. I just hope you make it to the endgame as jjenigma says.
Hi Brett!! Good luck with the interning! :)
Glad to have you own the team!! Do awesome!
Thanks so much for the warm welcome everyone! :D
Hey Peaceful Panda congrats on the promotion, Metroid is my favorite series, and Fusion is my favorite entry aswell, so super high five. Metroid's 25th Anniversary is this year so here goes to to any amazing series that has captivated me like no other. I look forward to seeing your contributions on the front page, I've always enjoyed your commentary.
I've never been particularly good at any fighting game, but man do I have fun playing them.

I'm the same way. I love them so hard but I'm not really that good at them. Except Smash Bros. I'll fuck some shit up with Pikachu.

Welcome!
Hello and good luck!
