The Greatest Scene In the History of Animated Film
BravoNavo | 10:22 AM on 10.31.2008 20 comments

I'm sure we all have our favorite scenes from animated films, but this is one of the few which still makes me feel emotional every time I watch it:

The amazing score, the wonderful animation, the booming voice of James Earl Jones. Agree or disagree, you have to admit: this scene has epic written all over it.

What about you guys? Any favorite scenes from animated films?

P.S.: I want to avoid a Simba/Kimba debate, so lets leave that for another time.
P.P.S.: I still need to listen to that RetroforceGO! episode about Disney.

the final explosion in akira is as great as this, also many of Disney's early work (prior to the strike) was some of his greatest work.

My favorite would be from Spirited away, Chihiro running with the guy at the beginning.
Or when Eva 02 wakes up and stirs shit up? Or when they kill bambi's mother? Or anything in Alice in wonderland. It's all good.

One i hate for making me feel saaaaad, so sad, is the grave of the fireflies. Maaaan, it was torture i tell you. It's terrible. Sad.

Watch (and listen to) this scene at Disney's The Fox and the Hound movie and tell me you didn't cry with it:

For me this is one of the most touching scenes ever.

The cartoon shoe getting The Dip in Who Framed Roger Rabbit is one of the saddest moments on film. Oh my God did that make me feel terrible as a kid.

While its not one scene in particular, Grave of the Fireflies is the most heart-wrenching animated movies I've ever seen.

Try Akira see if that makes you emotional. oh this is first animated Lion movie which is called "Kimba the White Lion".

Tezuka Osamu made a few tv shows and one animated film before the lion king.
Look who is copying who?

So strange that so many of you would mention Graveyard of the Fireflies, as I almost added that to the Halloween horror movie list.

It may not be a horror movie in the traditional sense, but it sure makes you feel afraid and awful.

Dude i could pick just about any scene from that movie. Its by a long way my favourite animated movie and among the best movies ive ever seen.
