Left4Dead Preorder Cheapness @ Amazon
Brando | 9:36 AM on 09.09.2008 10 comments

I don't know about you, but Left4Dead is number one game on my most anticipated list for the rest of this year. So why not save a couple bucks on what could be the best game of 2008? Right now Amazon is taking preorders for the Windows version for only $39.99 (10 bucks off). Personally, I'll be preloading this baby on steam but if you can stand to wait an extra day or two then this is a pretty solid deal.

L4D is the only game you will need until Aliens: Colonial Marines.

The 360 version on Amazon is for $53.99. Tempted, but only if it is guaranteed to be there day one! That is a must.

I'll probably do what I always do. I won't pre-order and I'll be all pissed for a couple of days until I find it at a Wal-Mart 60 miles from my house.

That is a cool deal, but I'll go thru Steam so I can play it the moment its released.

I am so torn on what I should get it for.

I need to get it on Xbox because thats where I know most of the people but I don't want to pay for updates or not have kick ass mods. I also don't want to pay for it twice.

Will Steam run it smooth through VMware on my mac?

@Falinter,

Why not use Boot Camp? I'm pretty sure you'll take a performance hit if you virtualize it. And virtualization stresses your machine more :(
Too Much Coffee Man's Destructoid Blog
@falinter

that all depends on what kind of mac you have.

if it's an x86 mac do what casualweaponry said, boot camp.

if it's not, then no it will run like ass. build a PC.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?

Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!

 about me

I love all genres but 2D platformers will always be my favorite. A lot of great new games have come out in the recent times, but I honestly don't believe anything will ever top the SNES years. I grew up a loyal Nintendo fanboy, but (like many) realized the error of my ways too late with the passing of the Dreamcast. I miss the days when gaming was for geeks only, and anxiusly await (with both hope and dread) for the next generation of gaming...
