I don't normally post too many blogs because I'm way to busy but this needs to be shared. While video games are my biggest hobby, motorcycling is a close second, and as such I frequent a number of biker communities in addition to Destructoid. Well today the biker world has been set ablaze by perhaps the biggest tool of all time.
Found in a Suzuki forum, a seemingly normal help thread starts off innocently enough. Some idiot dumped two bottles of NOS fuel additive into his bike without reading the instructions and it died. Yes, its a groan worthy mistake (you would normally only add a few ounces as its almost pure kerosene) but here is the real kicker. After about 2 pages of discussion the OP realizes that he didn't add two bottles of NOS fuel additive, he added two bottles of NOS energy drink. The fact that it had nutrition facts and the giant words "energy drink" on the bottles didn't stop him. My god. Next time he should use red bull and fly himself home...
Reminds me of the thread where some guy sucked sand into his Honda's engine in order to "port and polish" it. It also reminds me of the thread where the newbie with the mustang was changing his oil and he actually listened when someone told him to run several gallons of water through his engine after draining the old oil but before adding the new oil. Some people do some ridiculous things to cars.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
about me
I love all genres but 2D platformers will always be my favorite. A lot of great new games have come out in the recent times, but I honestly don't believe anything will ever top the SNES years. I grew up a loyal Nintendo fanboy, but (like many) realized the error of my ways too late with the passing of the Dreamcast. I miss the days when gaming was for geeks only, and anxiusly await (with both hope and dread) for the next generation of gaming...
Destructoid is an independently-run publication forged by our love of video games and the gaming community's need of accountable enthusiast press living the dream since March 16, 2006
