The boys at Atlus know how to buy a man. I was already sold on
Operation Darkness before today’s screenshots. The very second I heard the two precious words of “zombie” and “Nazi” together I out the door and pre-ordering from the goons at my local Gamestop. They tried to tell me that it would blow, but whatever. Objectivity is completely out the door when my mind is ravaged by these intense thoughts of awesomeness.
I’m going into this blind, really. Headlong. Straight into the vast depths of terrible strategy RPGs, I’m sure. I checked out the demo of
Operation Darkness on LIVE the second it came online and had a good chuckle. Werewolves, zombie-Nazis, creepy scientist looking dudes sprinkled with mugginess and doom. What more could a boy want? Unfortunately, my inner brain (the part that doesn’t crave zombie-Nazis) kept cranking, thinking of how terrible the demo was.
The RPG is a nastily overpowered weapon, while the mad werewolf movements broke the field of battle. I especially loved the part where I blew up a dude I wasn’t supposed to kill and the demo kept on rolling. The best part is when a tank came rolling up on my scattered party, and I found myself unable to destroy it because I used up all my RPG shots on a few Nazi death squads. I guess that’s a typical Atlus title, though - low budget, bandaged, and ready for minor consumption.
Anyway, if you can follow my jive, some screenshots were revealed today. I gathered up the best of them and tossed them below. Feel free to give a glance and support the greatest game ever made that isn’t named
Uber Soldier.
@Conrad - Yeah, the game obviously has some problems, but zombie-nazis and werewovles. C'mon. Those two things alone trump any glitch that I can think of.
