Surely at this point everyone self-respecting Playstation 3 owner knows about the rumor of a firmware update containing the equivalent of 360’s achievements. While we cannot know if the Playstation 3 version of the popular system will be as satisfying as “Achievement Unlocked,” this image that PS3fanboy pulled can help us elude to what the system will be about.



So, we have a Clank avatar in the upper left corner and I’m seeing multiple layers of achievements with plenty of space to shoot upwards into the thousands. The lower right-hand number is a bit cryptic. Will this be a sum of all the points gathered?

To further complete the "Yeah, Microsoft did it right, so let's steal it" circle, a second image appeared at PS3fanboy detailing what the submitter essentially calls a gamercard.



The mysterious user then goes all to talk about the in-game XMB, which he says players will be able to do "...most things." Does this mean we can finally message each other while playing MGS 4? Surely if there is one feature Sony's online service sorely needs, it is this.

Take these with a grain of salt. These are two user pictures with zero facts attached to them. But it's nice to dream, isn't it?
