Hell froze over and Duke Nukem finally got released and it got tits in it.

Unfortunately that's the best thing I'l lhave to say about it.

The graphics are bad, the textures look like its straight from the nineties, who knows, maybe they are...

ITS BEEN THAT LONG!

No amount of blur is going to hide the complete lack of polish the game sufferers from. There is a complete over use of Bloom affect and DoF. In fact the DoF affect is implemented so badly that when pressing the RMB to zoom in all the enemies turn into blurry blobs. Its like playing a game while suffering from cataracts.

Dukes charm is gone too, maybe its because back when DN was originally released seeing virtual strippers and shooting 'the pigs' was considered a daring move by any developer it shocked you, made you feel little shameful for enjoying it, playing the game was a guily pleasure.

Since then the gaming industry has had a decade to mature and to see all this stuff again in DNF leaves you with a feeling of 'been there done that.' and the excitement from seeing this stuff vaporizes faster than KY jelly on Dirk Digglers cock.

The Dialogue is annoying, the characters are annoying the whole damn thing is annoying. Duke Nukem should have been left as the legend it was, not dress up mutton being served as lamb.

Fail to the king, baby & welcome to the bargain bin.

The biggest problem the Duke have to face is the hype and high expectations to it. Even if the game was worthy a 7, it will not be enough to please the fans.
NoName - I don't think any of these complaints are based on hype. They're based on the game being a lump of shit.
The game, or at least that demo, was bad enough to make me take it off my Gamefly queue.
All the bad reviews made me change my pre-order to Alice: Madness Returns. It's a shame really, I wanted to enjoy Duke but if it's garnering nothing but bad reviews you know there's something wrong there. I may wait till it goes on the cheap and pick it up but sadly no day one for this guy.
Aw, didn't even come off as a throwback to how things used to be?

Oh well, I have it on Steam so I'm going still going to play it.
But Gearbox tried so hard :(
Keelut2012

Thats the problem, I dont think the did, they just took was ever assets had been created and inhereted then did the bear minimum to cobble the game together for a quick as possible release and a quick buck.

Developement was picked up by Gearbox in Septmember last year. The game was ejaculated onto the market a mere 10 months later.

The king is dead (DNF), long live the king (DN)
