I don't have any alt accounts on dtoid MathewRD. I posted the article for the chillbros in JTV chat.
i love how the killstreaks are almost identical to COD4's. UAV at 3, space laser at 5, then some sort of ship that hovers around and shoots shit at 7. at least you have to grab someone's 'dog tag' in order for it to count towards a killstreak -- in that way campers and snipers won't be raping everyone.
I knew I forgot something. Yeah the killstreaks are pretty fun except when you're on the receiving end of an alien gunship lol.
What I believe Crytek are doing is trying to make their multiplayer familiar to the current fps console gamers, which is in no way a bad thing. It might give Crysis more credibility than simply being a benchmark title.

That's a terrible thing. Every shooter right now, is a clone of CoD. Because they're trying to make their multiplayer "familiar".
If they removed the familiar-ness of it, we'd actually have a broad selection of different types of shooters.

What are you even talking about? we already have a broad selection of shooters. People talk rubbish all the time about the state of fps, if you can't tell the difference between Halo, CoD and Quake then you aren't a gamer.
Also making the multiplayer familiar like CoD is a great thing because frankly the Crysis Wars multiplayer we have had up until now is a PoS. People played the Crysis game for single player and for the graphics, it was famous for being a benchmark title, now with the new update we actually have people talking about the multiplayer again.

Halo and CoD play the same for the most part. I haven't played Reach yet, but I can tell you I can pick it up and get at least 1-2 in terms of my KDR. Quake is also incredibly similar, unless you're talking the older games.
The multiplayer is exactly the same thing we've played before with a few tweaks that make it pretty neat in a short-lasting kind of way.
