Fanboys(and fangirls). They infest our world with their spineless arguments and console-bashing. It's such a shame that these narrow-minded people have not seen the positive features of other consoles. They lift up their console on a pedestal and treat other consoles as worthless crap. They dream of the downfall of the consoles they don't own. But if those dreams came true, they would probably soon see the downfall of their
own console. Of course, they don't realize or believe this, and still want the (insert "crap" consoles here) to fail. Who knows why they think that way? Perhaps I can look back into my days as a Nintendo fanboy and try to comprehend my beliefs.
When I was younger, I had to defend that little purple box that I had sitting downstairs. I thought that the PS2 and the Xbox were awful and I always tried to point out the negatives of my friends' other consoles and the positives of my GameCube. My vision was blinded and I hated the PS2 and the Xbox when I hadn't even played them that much. I used stupid excuses to defend my GameCube. I would say the PS2 was ugly or that the Xbox controller was too big (I had smaller hands at the time).
I just had to defend my GameCube. The process that goes on with fanboyism is that people want to prove that they didn't waste their money on their console. I wanted to prove to myself that the GameCube was obviously the best selection of the three consoles of that generation. Fanboyism is purely fueled by that. They don't realize that they could actually have fun on a console they don't have. They resort to screaming pointless statistics or blatantly biased observations.
When I was a fanboy, I hoped for the failure of the PS2 and the Xbox. It's just another aspect of fanboyism. But if the PS2 and the Xbox had actually failed, it would have destroyed the industry. As much as all you fanboys out there hate the other consoles, competition is needed. Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo keep each other in check. If we were to have only one video game manufacturer, the industry would be monopolized by that company, prices would soar and the consumer wouldn't be heard. With three companies, each company tries to please the consumer more than the other in order to maximize profits.
And what's that called? Capitalism. It's a great system. But fanboys don't like the idea of companies competing with each other; they would rather have one company rise above the other and control the industry.
You all know who you are. Just shut up, don't make
typo-infested videos full of crap or make long essay-posts about why your console is so amazing and why the others suck. If you go out and actually play some games on the other consoles, you might actually realize that they're not too bad.
Fanboys: Stupid. Ignorant. Spammers. Idiots. Commies.
Couldn't have said it better my self.
Seriously, though. I totally agree that some of these people need to stop with their rabbid dog-like humping of this or that console.
