Yahtzee jumps into another MMO/online sim thing cause someone emailed him about Age of Conan. With a 14 day trial, he takes this challenge to review and determine if this game is like any other MMO or not. I always wondered about this game and heard that the instruction manual is about the size of the yellow pages.

I played EVE for about 45 minutes before quiting and removing it from my harddrive. Sweet christ, what a boring game.

The different intro music every ep was cool because it was usually related in someway with the review, I do miss that.

I miss it too Knives, but I understand why he had to scrap it. Too many people were noticing him.

Soooo he only talks about PVE interaction? That's so biaised! PVE only represents a fraction of the game. He didn't talk about the mining, the awesome PVP system, crafting, marketing, etc. Oh well, it is true that at times it is pretty boring, that's why i play on and off.

I agree with most of his opinions, but like Lightthrower said he didn't get into the PVP stuff which is more intersting in that you are playing a person and not a computer....wait back up. I take back the previous sentence.

Eve is only for the most hardcore Sci-Fi geeks. To all others, avoid.

Actually, BPG, I am a hardcore sci-fi geek, and while the concept of EVE thrilled me, I played the trial for a about a day before finally admitting that I wasn't having any fun. None. Not at all.

lol shoehead. god, if i was leaning toward playing another MMO again it would've either been LOTRO again or EVE. well fuck a duck it seems that society wants me to have a social life after all.

It's like he's just picking games now that he knows he'll hate. It makes for more entertaining episodes, but I can see where this would get bland, listening to a guy find new and interesting ways to tell you that a game sucks.

They're still funny for now though, so I'll keep watching 'em. :D

Why do you thing it was an AoC e-mail that made him play Eve? Am I missing something or is it not obvious it would have been an Eve e-mail?

This guy is fucking hilarious. Although you do sometimes learn valuable things about the games and get good opinions, if you look at these *primarily* as reviews you're going to come out thinking he's obnoxious and shallow. But if you look at them like Maddox-style melodramatic fun rants, which they clearly are, it's entertainment gold.

My favorite is the Resident Evil UC "review." Fucking awesome.

I have a bad feeling about this.

Actually laughing at these reviews including the RE:UC one helped me get through painful parts of my life. I'm not even getting. So much so that the song he plays at the end brings back memories of feeling refreshed and optimistic and redeemed. This guy pwns.

Run away train never coming back now. Wrong way on a one-way track.
