What's with Half-Life 2?

Cereal? I don't get it! What is up with this game? You turn it on like any other game and you play. You get guns and shoot people and stuff and blow other things up. Sure there is a plot and story but I really don't know what is with Half-Life 2?

WHY IS THIS GAME SO GOOD?

Not just this one but the first one too. I was a little late to the Half-Life game but once I started, I couldn't put it down. It was just so much fun. And now with HL2, it is even more fun.

Not only that but it is controlling nicely on my 360 and looks remarkable. But besides that, there is something else. There is something else here that I just can't seem to put my finger on. What is it? Why are you so special? Why are you so great?

I can't stop playing you (had to tear myself away from you last night) and I can forsee not getting much sleep tonight with you in my hands. So much playing, so much gaming ... all for $35. Yes, please!

For one, the bumpin' techno music that fires up when it gets hot doesn't hurt... at all.

Also they don't take themselves too seriously, while taking themselves seriously? I don't know how they pull it off, but they do.

Half Life just has a great 'Je ne sais quoi' about it.

It's fun and I could get right back into the game even though I haven't played HL2 or HL2: Episode 1 for the longest time.

And it actually has GOOD AI! I have been chased and in the FIRST Half-Life ... I threw a grenade around the corner and an enemy actually KICKED it back at me!

Hmm... been debating getting the Orange Box for the PC or the 360. Hearing that the controls are nice on the 360 is a definite plus.

Games this awesome don't require an explination. I'll be playing Ep. 2 tonight, now that I beat Portal. I really liked Portal despite how short it was.

I haven't even touched HL2 or Portal. I have been seriously enjoying Team Fortress 2 and listening to all the kids running around experiencing it for the first time. It's amazing to see Team Fortress make a comeback after all these years. It truly warms my cockles.

Variable Gear

The storytelling is just so natural in Half-Life 2. That and the AI, and the physics puzzles, and the Gravity Gun make for a flaming good time.

I really don't like Half Life that much. Other then that, the main char looks like a total dork. Though I'll still probably wind up playing it since I'm buying Orange Box for Portal.
