What's better: Long or Short comics?

This has nothing to do with how much text is involved but the length of the webcomic. F@NBOYS have put out a new comic (their 300) and VG Cats decided to finally put a new comic, but are they too long?

First let's tackle the beloved F@NBOYS whom I love since they've done some sweet TF2 comics. Unfortunately this is not a TF2 one but it is still good, right?

So the question that is left, are they too long? Should they have been cut down into parters or are they fine as is? I think they are fine as is but are a little too long. Crazy artists and their "I do whatever I want cause I am an artist" ways! :P

That's why I enjoy 3 panel soul (It's only 3 panels). I'd like longer comics more if they were... more funny? I don't know, vgcats is usually pretty good, that one isn't really that funny though.

I honestly don't care in the slightest. If it's fun, it's fun. Don't see how the length has anything to do with it at all, unless it's a really long one just for the sake of it and drags shit out. But even then I wouldn't spend an extra second being disappointed or annoyed by it seeing as an extra couple of seconds is exactly all it took to go through regardless.

I read a whole bunch of comics but 8-bit Theater is probably my favorite (fallen horribly behind on the literally over one thousand strips though) and those usually have a lot of panels and text. Best humor ever!

Brevity is the soul of wit. Not to say longer comics can't be good but if a joke goes on for more than 4-5 panels you take a risk of running it into the ground.

The fanboys one is fine, The Vgcats one however is way to long and kills the joke before it is over. Personally webcomic wise I prefer the shorter ones because they are short, to the point, and don't wander off in another direction and ruin the joke.

What Shipero said. Comics are the best when they're short and to the point. I don't want to have to look at 30 pictures before I see a joke that really isn't funny. Or even worse, read a book before not even reading a joke, when the comic is supposed to be funny.

Although the Fanboys one is excusable, since it seems to be less of a joke, and more of an I'm-an-artist-look-at-how-I-mix-games display of wankery.

It's their work... they can make it as long or short as they want. I just won't read it if they make me look at 30 kuri panels that should probably stay (and be more successful) on DeviantArt.

Penny Arcade and PBF are the best webcomics on the multinet because they're short and punchy. There's no way I'm gonna waste 5 minutes reading a comic that probably has a shitty esoteric punchline anyway.

Yes, I have seen that ZP episode. Duh...PS just isn't funny and VG Cats usually has some laughs but they never update. Fanboys is usually up there on my list.
