The new fad HERE in US from Japan
BlindsideDork | 10:43 AM on 09.22.2008 12 comments

Honestly, I never expected this to become a fad. But it is here now and I don't know if we will ever be the same. Getting its initial roots in America with a laugh and some kittens frolicing, also masturbation, it has only gained steam.

Now it is infecting our clothes, stores, and candies. Don't know what I am talking about...look at him, look at the fear that will probably soon sweep the nation like it did in Japan. With his first appearance, you learn to FEAR the...

DOMOKUN!

This weekend I was doing some shopping in le Target and I decided I needed some Peanut Butter M&M's which are utterly and completely epic. And with the deal of two bags for $4, how can you possibly pass up that amazing deal? But anyways, I get to the candy section and what do I see? The brown creature everywhere. He was on the signs up above peering out of the candy corn, he was on the border for the troughs of candy and they had a dedicated section to him featuring assorted candy.

There was even a bin full of him dressed as iconic halloween monsters like Frankenstein, Dracula, and even a devil. I passed on them since I already have my own official Domokun plush at him. Of course if they had a Zombiekun I would've been over that in a hear beat. I didn't have my camera so I can't show you the proof, but I knew it had to be documented somehow and then I saw it.

Yes, domokun chocolate on a stick for $.99. I wasn't breaking the bank and it was chocolate. It was something that seemed worthwhile. Figured that was no point in saving it, I of course ate it. The verdict: delicious. It is chocolate. There was no noticable alternate flavors for the mouth and eyes so don't worry.

But how do you feel about this new (or not so new according to Nihon) fad coming to our nation? You can buy shirts of him everywhere from Target to Suncoast (if any exist) to *shutter* Hot Topic. FYE is among the few stores that sell the plushies too. It is getting here, getting ready to attack and take us over like Pokemon. Crazy, never though it would come to this.

As long as it results in more chocolate related products, I'm totally okay with that.
