King Dedede
Yes, this is a CHARACTER! Mr. "King of Dream Land" himself is a new character. Not an assist trophy like a thought but a full fledged character! That wooden mallet sure looks devastating.

Hmmm, you know what...this is a GOOD thing! He is suppose to be a Heavyweight and there is plenty more room in that field besides DK and Bowser. Bring him on! And while you are at it...give us ONE more!

Speaking of which, King Dedede is fat. That's the only thing I like about him. I would have preferred every assist trophy announced so far to be playble over this guy.
But I'm happy for the rest of you. And happy I got another point in the contest.
I think characters and series that have legit games released should get more characters. Therefore I think the next(/last) heavy should be Ridley from Metroid. An alternate costume a new character does not make.

3. Kirby is a staple Nintnendo chrachter so his arch nemisis should be in the game, just makes sense.
4. I would be fine with Robotnik as long as it meant everyone had a villian counter point and that meant that a villian from Metal Gear showed up.
5. I am not fine with this if it means we don't get Ganondorf back because of the roster filling up or something.
Zelda...well Gannondorf is rumored to be redone so that makes Kirby even with Zelda.
Last Kirby game was the apparently good DS Canvas cruise game thingy....

Actually my alternate costume comment was in reference to Zero Suit Samus being included as a new character. If you can't pick her from the main screen, she doesn't count. I apologize for spelling that out for you.
Also, I just find it odd that they have, thus far, chosen to include more characters from the Kirby series which is solely more popular in Japan than, say, the Zelda series which is loved by everyone the world over (or seemingly so). I don't care who had a hand in making the game(s), recognizing you have a rabid fan base the world over for a more popular series just sorta shouts "pay homage to this series" first to me.
Also, I have played the first couple Kirby games back in the SNES and Game Boy days and know who Dedede is. Ever since then I feel as though he has become a 3rd-tier character, though. You cannot argue that Nintendo doesn't push him like Mario, Link, Samus, and DK can you? 'Cause if so, then YOU'RE fucking stupid.
Note: I never said Dedede was a bad choice. I just find him making the cut over(/before) other characters is sorta surprising to me. Then again, it does leave the door open for many more surprises, though, which intrigues me.

I don't think you can push Kirby, he is...and is there. But they don't push Samus.
That is how Mega Man has to play. When he kills you with the Mega Buster he gets one of your characters abilities as his Tap-B or B move. Mega Man would be super awesomesauce if he was a Kirby/Samus hybird.
