Sorry for the late posting...other things came up. But what do we have here? Has the Smash Dojo decied to stop teasing us and release a steady converyor belt of juicy meat for us to sink our teeth into and devour (much like how sometimes the veterans feel about the noobs here)?
What we got to day is what appears to be a bunch of cut scene snap-shots showcasing a new game mode. This new game mode is for right now named
This World... No clue if this is a prototype name or not, we will see.
It is pretty vague on the details. It appears you use trophies to fight in this mode. Do you have certain trophies at different levels (like different trophies are better than others) and you watch a cinematic for each fight or do you have to unlock trophies of the playable characters to use them? Probably you pick a character and they turn into trophies at given time or certain situation?
Either way, the two (or more?) "trophies" fight and looks as if you get beaten up to a certain amount (100%?), you could turn into a trophy.
Or is this another take on "
Survival Mode" but a TEAM inspired survial mode that has you trying to stay "humanized" as long as possible and if your teammate turns into a trophy you can un-trophy-ize them?
Another strange part are the mention of these "rules" that can be broken but will have consequences for doing so in the shape of some purple-smoke loving fiend. Why does he look familiar again? All I do know is that the plane that flies in on looks very similar to...
strike what I said before, a commentor told me it could be and most likely Meta Knight's ship called KSS Halbred. So does that mean that funky purple smoke dude is from a Kirby game? Sorry, never played one more than a first few levels.
This is cool in all but you can tell this snapshots were taken from a cut scene of sorts. I have said this once and I will say this again...these updates should be in video form so we can see briefly, them in action. Lazy bums...
PS: I know this was already posted, but this is my BABY! So shut up and stop it!
kthxbye

I think this is explaining the backdrop for the storyline of Brawl's singleplayer. If anyone remembers the intro to SSB, you learn that all the players are puppets, and, more recently, when you clear a mode in Melee, your character turns back into its trophy.
You don't literally use trophies to fight in this mode.

You're right, it is under the Modes section.
Is it under the NEW modes section? No, in fact there isn't one. Could just be a hint of what to expect to see in Adventure Mode this time around.
Everything I see about those pictures scream Intro Movie. Want to know my big piece of evidence?
Third picture down, of Mario's trophy shining. Call me crazy, but I could swear that's the exact same position and camera angle that Mario's trophy takes in the intro to Mélee while he's coming to life.
Subtle hint, I know. I don't expect everyone to catch that. But that's the clue I'm pointing to. I'm pretty sure that's the developer's little nod-and-a-wink to us players.
