Sorry for the late posting...other things came up. But what do we have here? Has the Smash Dojo decied to stop teasing us and release a steady converyor belt of juicy meat for us to sink our teeth into and devour (much like how sometimes the veterans feel about the noobs here)?
What we got to day is what appears to be a bunch of cut scene snap-shots showcasing a new game mode. This new game mode is for right now named
This World... No clue if this is a prototype name or not, we will see.
It is pretty vague on the details. It appears you use trophies to fight in this mode. Do you have certain trophies at different levels (like different trophies are better than others) and you watch a cinematic for each fight or do you have to unlock trophies of the playable characters to use them? Probably you pick a character and they turn into trophies at given time or certain situation?
Either way, the two (or more?) "trophies" fight and looks as if you get beaten up to a certain amount (100%?), you could turn into a trophy.
Or is this another take on "
Survival Mode" but a TEAM inspired survial mode that has you trying to stay "humanized" as long as possible and if your teammate turns into a trophy you can un-trophy-ize them?
Another strange part are the mention of these "rules" that can be broken but will have consequences for doing so in the shape of some purple-smoke loving fiend. Why does he look familiar again? All I do know is that the plane that flies in on looks very similar to...
strike what I said before, a commentor told me it could be and most likely Meta Knight's ship called KSS Halbred. So does that mean that funky purple smoke dude is from a Kirby game? Sorry, never played one more than a first few levels.
This is cool in all but you can tell this snapshots were taken from a cut scene of sorts. I have said this once and I will say this again...these updates should be in video form so we can see briefly, them in action. Lazy bums...
PS: I know this was already posted, but this is my BABY! So shut up and stop it!
kthxbye

Actually, I think that's MetaKnight's plane.
MetaKnight has a plane?
Sorry, never played a Kirby game...
I bet you fight it out and then the loser turns into a trophy which the winner collects. Then maybe you can call on them for help in the next fight....or...something...like that.
wtf?!
Best and Worst update-ever!
what the newbs dont know is that you actually have a hand cannon
PEW PEW PEW!
That thing smoking the purple weed looks kind of like a Mii, from the neck down...
And this could also be new adventure mode... damn this update truly is the best and worst blindside.
CONSPIRACY CLOUDS.
Ivy, Ridley, and Bowser?
Foil hat?
Rockvillain, you are the biggest n3rd around!
CONGRATS!
Wolf Link?
Snail?
Most badass update yet.
I think this is explaining the backdrop for the storyline of Brawl's singleplayer. If anyone remembers the intro to SSB, you learn that all the players are puppets, and, more recently, when you clear a mode in Melee, your character turns back into its trophy.
You don't literally use trophies to fight in this mode.
Are those first couple of screens cutscreens.. Those look really good..
RockVillain....you have WAY too much time on your hands...haha!
That snail is ftw!
Rockvillian that's so awesome. Nobody told me anything! Now I have nothing to wear!!
Have they completely ruled out online multiplayer yet or is it still just up in the air (but probably not gonna happen)?
No word, but I thought they were trying to?
seems like they are trying to put a story in smash bros. I don't think it sounds very good.
I have massive woods behind my office
My cousin told me that the purple thing is from Kirby 64.. but it was a cloud that turned every one evil. I looked it up, but i couldnt find anyhhting that made it true.
Y'know, that could just be the intro movie.
AceFowl, it was update and it is under the Modes section.
ya, and zero suit samus turned out to be one-in-the-same character with regular samus......
i'd say this update is an intro movie
Duh, the cloud turns out to be Galactus.
Man, all this is is the opening cinematic for the game. I bet is they are just going to show afew screenshots of said cinematic and explain what is going on every other friday till the game comes out this dec. Just in SSBM the intro always shows the main characters coming to life but this time there is actually some developing plot to the main game.
"AceFowl, it was update and it is under the Modes section."
You're right, it is under the Modes section.
Is it under the NEW modes section? No, in fact there isn't one. Could just be a hint of what to expect to see in Adventure Mode this time around.
Everything I see about those pictures scream Intro Movie. Want to know my big piece of evidence?
Third picture down, of Mario's trophy shining. Call me crazy, but I could swear that's the exact same position and camera angle that Mario's trophy takes in the intro to Mélee while he's coming to life.
Subtle hint, I know. I don't expect everyone to catch that. But that's the clue I'm pointing to. I'm pretty sure that's the developer's little nod-and-a-wink to us players.
