The trailer for the futuristic, flying combat game PyroBlazer was recently shown off. They just need to make F-Zero Wii already and be done with it. It's the best racing series around and a newer version can't be worse since the games have gotten progressvely better. If you didn't catch the PyroBlazer, check it out here:
It looks alright but you fly through tunnels which means second place can just fly behind you and blow you up? I mean it does pretty good here and there and might be a decent romp, but for the most part it reminds me of
Forsaken 64 minus the big open areas. Forsaken...now that was a fun game that I would probably buy on PSN or XBLA. Fly around with sweet ships and weapons and blow others up. I especially loved the Pandora level where it was a sphere with its inside being the outside, it was trippy and great...oh yeah, this game.
Extreme G kind of did the racing combat right but with flying it just feels like "lock on to the guy in front of you and blow up." Just give me a racing game. Not an "open world" racing game where you have to find the starting point of each race. Give me a balls to the walls, crazy insane racer that makes you piss your pants and be afraid to blink your eyes out of fear of crashing your vehicle. Yes, give me F-Zero Wii, Wii-Zero, F-Zero: Wiitardly Fast or whatever you want to fancy it up as.
I just need my F-Zero craving and want to see it on the Wii. At least I got my copy of
F-Zero GX got back to me from Procyon.
Remember how far into the Gamecube's cycle we were before GX appeared? Remember how good GX was? Good, now shut up and be patient.
It actually wasn't that far into development cycle. It came out two years after release of the Cube. I remember picking it up in College. So that means the equal development time would be this August.
Come, Blindside, we have work to do to get F-Zero on the Wii.
