I am doing some matlockery! Be intrigued because I got some secrets and some ideas about how many are left and who they be. Some of my evidence comes from ZekethePlumbers's
blog where ... well he needs to stop looking at the site so much (or MORE!).
Let's get started with the Dojo's
Character page. If you are too lazy to click, here are pictures!
You see that? By using skills and Zeke's little page, it appears we have probably six more characters left to reveal. Melee had 25 characters, this would make the game have 28 characters. I think that is a good number. The more you add to it, the more it dampers the experience? There's is a point when there are just TOO many characters (Mugens are a different story at times). But how did I come up with this magic number?
Using the blog's logic, I saw that Captain Falcon is most likely in the game (could possibly be not though). He would add an EXTRA spot on the bottom row which would create 3 more vacant spaces. Who else could come in there? The Rumored re-invisioned Gannondorf would fit in nicely. Could throw in Mewtwo or Jiggly since they were not clones. And there is a good chance Luigi might be redone and added. That would fill up the veterans.
As for the newbies, well as you can see there are two slots left. Anyones guess on the last two. It could be Megaman (DOUBT IT). It could be a fictious character from Animal Crossing. Or what about a character from a popular series that hasn't been represented yet? Can't guess which title I am refering too? Think harder ... think REAL hard!
They obviously choose to show off the characters four across for a reason. Nice even boxes are the best, right? Even numbers rule even more. Now how are those for rock, solid facts? I win!
Well that is all my matlockery can come up with for you guys this morning. I am might tired and GayBear is REAL ... in our minds real.
Kind of.
Sorta ...
Okay, not at all?
What game are you speaking of now? What did this post accomplish? HEAD SCRATCHING.
Also, someone mentioned yesterday the inclusion of Mii's as fighters. I think that would be hilarious.
Wait, that is brilliant. PATENT PENDING!
Someone open the line to the Smash dude pronto!
Don't care, this is the internet where words like noob, clogs, fanboy, lol & GTFO are used.
I know but those are known "internet terms". I'm just fucking with you, I just hate when people say "funner". It just sounds wrong. Carry on as you must. But it would be more fun to have 35 characters.
Isn't that how we talk in Florida, Kryptinite?
Yeah, that just adds to the list of reasons why I hate Florida.
For that reason, I think there could definitely be more new characters, 'cause if you take out Zero Suit Samus, there is one less Newcomer. Also, 'cause more characters rock.
As far as thinking real hard, Blindside, I dunno what you are getting at. Do you mean Captain Olimar from Pikmin, who has already been rumored to be a contender. Or do you mean Jack's favorite Nintendo character, Cooking Mama?
I'm thinking you mean Vectorman. Clearly.
Also, how nasty would an assist trophy/item be wherein the screen starts filling up with Tetris blocks!?! They could even be playable on until they are destroyed by attacked so characters could jump on them instead of the actual play field. Just think... EPIC!
Hold a button and select to be Zero Suit Samus from the start just like Sheik?
I personally think it'd be sweet to see one of the Resident Evil characters (maybe even a zombie). I feel they would be too similar to Snake, though, which got me thinking.
How awesome would it be if there was an assist trophy wherein zombies (including the dogs or even Nemesis himself) started wandering across one side of the stage stopping to attack and feed on anyone in their way. THEN Jill Valentine or Leon Kennedy jumps out on the other side of the level and fires their gun across the field of play damaging anyone ELSE who is in the way and not being eaten by zombies.
How fucking sweet of a trophy/attack would THAT be?
PS - If an RE character makes it in as playable, how epic of a Final Smash would that be? Summoning a zombie horde and then destroying them and everyone else in between?
Actually you could "just be Sheik" in Melee. All you had to do was hold down A while the map loaded if you choose Zelda.
Also, I'm pretty sure there not going to be revealing the secret characters until either the day of or after the game is released, I think thats what they did with melee too.
The next secret character will probably be next month, last week of October at the earliest.
...or not
I personally hope there are at least as many "secret characters" meaning those not announced prior the Brawl's release, as their were in Melee. Even if a lot of them are unlockable alt costumes (Ness for Lucas, Dr Mario for Mario, etc) that would still leave at least a month of play just for unlocking stuff.
No indication has been made of that. All information reports that you must perform Samus' Final Smash to "become" Zero Suit Samus. And even so, I think having an 'alt' character shouldn't count as a new character. Especially if Zero Suit lacks a Final Smash or cannot turn back into normal Samus, like Sheik could do with Zelda.
@ Blindside, I think zombies could make an appearance if there was no blood. Snake has guns and bazookas and shit, why can't there be a zombie horde as long as they don't make Mario bleed?
Either way, you can't deny how SWEET that attack/assist would be.
And also about "taking Samus out," I believe there probably was one odd person out so they put Samus in to show off and space filler. They could've includer her on the Samus section.
There really can't be enough characters in Smash Bros.
Too true.
But what I'd really love to see is Wind Waker Gannondorf.
But, then again, if Ganondorf's move set is truly re-imagined as many have said it will be, it would make sense to do so with his visual style to sort of "make up for" the move switch.
